How Different would TLK be?

Everyone has made valid points, although one other thing to consider is that if Scar wasn't in the movie. Mufasa would not have been killed. With Mufasa there to continue to raise and guide Simba, Simba would have been made to understand the responsibilities of a King as well as the importance of having a trusted Majordomo. However I also think that had Simba and Nala asked Mufasa to let them break their betrothal. He would have (however reluctantly) allowed it ( Knowing that the kingdom could not prosper if the King and Queen did not truly love each other. While hoping that given some time and space they would come to their senses). I don't believe that Simba and Nala would have fallen in love until either Nala found the courage to tell Simba how she felt, or until another lion look a romantic interest in Nala (If Simba were faced with the prospect of loosing Nala to another lion, I believe it would have made him realize his (thus far repressed/denied) feelings for her and he would have fought (not necessarily physically, but definitely emotionally) to win her heart. I think Simba would still be a great king, it just might have been longer that is was for him to gain a queen at his side.
If Simba had stuck to his I Just Can't Wait to be King attitude?

What I mean by this is, what if he'd fired Zazu? Not married Nala? Done it all his way, all the time?
Now that's a great idea for a fan-fic.

There's several options. Mufasa still dies and Simba is still exiled, but despite Mufasa's death, he has always desired to return to the pridelands and rule as King and so as soon as he is old enough and able, he leaves the Jungle for the Pride Lands, at which point in time he would have had a huge reality to check in terms of Scar's reign and how important it is to rule with care.

Option 2: Scar is not in the picture, there is no stampede. Simba would perhaps have a younger sibling, perhaps a male that SimbasGuard suggested would have an attraction to Nala which would cause Simba to fight for her. I think every young kid is a little bit that way though, it would be gross to marry their best friend. However, as they grew, those emotions certainly would and I don't think he'd be too adverse to the idea ;) In terms of ruling, I imagine he would be quite bold and headstrong in his opinions, and a little blind to some things, but with experience I know that would grow. To some extent he might have the attitude of "dad always tells me what to do" but if he and Nala ended up together, I would think she would end up being a calm voice of reason in the background.

Probally would have been a selfish king if he stayed with that attitude.

It would be more likely that Simba would turn out to be a king with an power obsession since he wants to do everything he wants

I kind of agree with Aquene. I think that if Simba had continued this attitude, he would of just been a little less of an over-paranoid ruler without any confidence. If you notice, he still kinda had the mentality that he wants everything his way, even when he reunites with Nala towards the end of the film. Meaning, he had the mentality well into adulthood. I think what made him have the attitude in SP was seeing how Scar reacted with the same kind of attitude. Which would explain why he was so over-protective over Kiara, because he didn't want her to get the ousider/Scar type of thinking to spoil her still growing mind, and make her end up being a power hungry ruler of sorts.

Exactly.

Here are some more valid points that I thought up:

1. Scar and his hyenas would probably still continue to try to kill Simba and his heir(s) (if Simba had a queen besides Nala) since Scar was so power-hungry.

2. Kiara (in the film) nor Kopa (in the books) would not exist since Simba doesn't take Nala to be his queen, and mate with her. :(

3. If Simba has a queen that isn't Nala, then, Simba would probably not have been over-protective of his cub(s) as Simba was with Kiara in The Lion King II.
