I saw it in theatres when I was 4 or 5, can't remember which. Still the best film I've ever seen in theatres...obviously.

I first saw TLK back in year 7, when our music teacher showed it to us because we were looking at African music. I wasn't very interested.
I didn't think about TLK again until less than a year ago. For some reason one of our teachers put it on in class, as it was the last lesson of the school year, starting from 'Hakuna Matata'. I was amazed by it, and remembered that we had the VHS tape at home. I watched it right through, and was hooked.
So I was 12 when I first saw part of it, but 16 when I first watched it properly and enjoyed it.

I saw it in theaters when I was 2. actually, I think it is my earliest memory ever. I had a stuffed Simba and Nala and a little finger puppet plush Simba with a leaf mane beforehand though. they ended up in like every home video of my birthday parties until like age 8.

but when I saw the movie that first time on the big screen and the Circle of Life scene played, my eyes just stretched as wide as ever and I nearly held my breath. by the end of the song I was completely blown away and just staring with my mouth open. then when the Simba ran out on Pride Rock in the twilight that's when I knew that I was in love with the movie then and there. all the way through the movie I was on the edge of my seat all wide-eyed in wonder. and I did cry at Mufasa's death, but I just couldn't look away from the screen even then. when the last scene played, I felt on top of the world.

I first seen TLK when it came out in theaters back in 1994. :) I was 6 years old by then and after seeing the movie for the first time, I wanna go back and see it again. Unfortunately though, I wasn't one of those lucky cubbies that lived close to theaters so I only actually seen it in theaters about three times I think. :(

I still watch the film from time to time nowadays on DVDs. I still remember owning the VHS version of the film. Boy... Did that VHS tape get a workout lol. ;)

Okay, well, seeing as I'm anciently old already, as far as being on an LK forum goes I suppose, I wasn't exactly a young cubby when I first saw TLK, but that might have been a good thing for me. ^^ I was 11 years old when TLK hit theaters. I know, months before it even was released, I was excited to see it, since I've always had an unnatural obsession and fascenation with lions. :) So I begged my parents to take me to the opening day showing. ^^ Much to my surprise, they actually gave in, which was quite rare of them to do, since they weren't exactly the most generous of parents when it came to things that they saw as being "wants" instead of "needs", lol. ^^ Anyways, I saw TLK on opening day of June 24, 1994, and was completely enraptured by the story, characters and music of it all. ^^ It was like the only movie I went to go see, where my focus wasn't solely on the popcorn and soda beside me. Yeah, I had a pretty shallow mind back then but TLK totally changed that. hehe. ^^ After the movie was over, I made it a point to go see it every weekend that followed, or at least, the weekends when I actually had enough money to buy a ticket. lol. I was bummed when the local theater pulled the movie after a few months but I had seen it numerous times by then so I was happy. ^^ Then, around my b-day of 95, TLK was coming out on VHS, so once more, I begged my parents to buy it for me, stating that it could be my only b-day gift for that year. lol. Worked like a charm too. :) I got the VHS and watched it, quite literally, to death. hehe. ^^

(mourns the fallen VHS tape)

Anyways, after that, I remained a loyal fan to TLK, although I missed the iMax release of the movie, due to being in a not so good emotional state after breaking up with my ex-lioness of almost five years. >.> Other than that though, I've pretty much seen every new TLK addition, with the acception of the Broadway show, since I never have the time or money to go see it. lol. Maybe one of these days though. <.<

wow, I must have had an unusually durable VHS, cause I watched mine bazillions of times and still have it....I actually watch the VHS still too, when I'm going to be in my bedroom awhile I'll play it (my tv in there only has VHS and satellite). I just wish that the case was in better shape

lol, you must have Simba, either that or you didn't watch it enough! hehe, j/k. ^^ I actually have more copies of TLK and all the sequels and various versions of the movies on VHS too, but don't even have a VCR to play them on anymore. lol. I guess it wouldn't really help much anyways, since they are all still factory sealed. >.> hehe. ^^ I do miss those good old days of just watching TLK, then rewinding the tape (which always seemed to take an eternity to do) and then watch it again, repeating until I either fell asleep or my sister kicked me off the TV. lol. :) Wasn't lucky enough to have my own VCR and TV in my room back then. >.>

I never got to buy the TLK video because we did not own a video player when I was little. I remember we had to rent one whenever we rented movies. :P Looking back, I really wish I had bought it anyway, it would have been great to have for a collection item.
