Thanks.
Scar is very manipulative. He screws with Simba's mind and with the feelings he has for Nala and his family to get what he wants.
Like when Scar said "What will your mother think?", he was using Sarabi.
In this part, he's using Nala.

QueenVitani wrote:Okay. You saying that you read somewhere that Mufasa was Nala's father isn't possible. Because then Simba and Nala would be related. Also, wouldn't Mufasa reffer to her a "daughter" and wouldn't Simba reffer to her as "sister"?

The King can mate with whoever he wants to in the pride, and Simba just may not know that Nala is his sister, Mufasa probably wouldn't tell him :/

it's like Tojo from the 6NA books, he's practically a clone of Simba. They could be brothers and not know it, you know?

I'm gonna go with the possibiluty that what the film makers don't literally say in the film, it isn't what they mean. As in, if they meant Nala to be Simba's cousin or sister, they would've made the point. Instead they had Mufasa and Sarabi intent to force Simba ana Nala to marry each other. Now, why would Mufasa want his own children to marry each other?

I guess you're right. But with Mufasa and Scar being the only males in the Pride, that could mean that either of them could be the father. I don't think lions actually care about who's family or not, to be honest, but it's Disney, so I think that's why they never mentioned Nala's father.

Yes, true, but lions in RL don't get married or fall in love. In TLK they do. TLK is not meant to be 100% animal behaviour.

Mufasa and Scar were the only males shown, but there could've been more. I don't recall the commentary track confirming which is the case. Does it? Anyway, it could've easily also been some rogue lion.

And while real lions are very much inbred, but even though Disney did follow real life lions and their pride habits to some extent, let's not forget they brought in and focused the morals on the human type of kingdom and monarchy, and portrayed the relationships and characters' emotions much more human-like than real lions could ever be. Hence, Simba and Nala reacting disgusted at the idea of marrying even a friend. I think that is pretty good evidence on that they didn't mean these lions inbred but instead to have the human intelligence and morals in relationships matters.

I think that she was looking that way for Simba, not Scar. :P

And okay, Nala is not Scar's daughter and Nala is not Vitani's mother.
