lol, come on.. if Simba and Nala can be half-siblings/cousins, so could Kovu and Kiara. I never fully understood why they made Simba and Nala related in the first movie, then make Kovu a random rogue's lion because he would be related to Kiara.

Yes they are. The directors of TLK said that Nala's father is either Mufasa or Scar.

I guess it`s because Nalas paternity wasn`t explored/deemed important for the first movie, we barely learned who her mother was, and no one knows for sure who her father is, although it`s most likely Scar or Mufasa, as the directors of TLK themselves have acknowledged..
In SP, everyone is fully aware of who Simba (and Kiara) are closely related to. Therefore the animators took greater care to make sure there was no blood relation between Kovu and Kiara.

No lions mentioned in TLK are blood relations to Kovu, thus, Kiara and Kovu are perfectly well eligible

I think Kovu's father could have been Malka. But thats just me. I mean, alot of people have brougt Malka up as a supposed father, and I guess it could work. Or Chumvi.

As for Nala and Simba, everyone argues that Scar is Nala's father and raped Sarafina???
But I don't believe that's true... What do you think?
