"What if" Scar didn't die...

What do you think he would've done? Just say miraculously he managed to escape the hyenas, play dead so they would go away, or whatever reason you want to come up with. Do you believe he would try to change his life for the better? Do you think he would try to atone for his crimes against his family and kingdom? Do you think he would leave his past in the past and start a new life? Do you think he'd try to reclaim the throne again?

So many questions..

I personally think that he would try to start a new life. Why? There would be no point in going back. Scar's crazy but he's not stupid. His character is described as scheming, intelligent and manipulative. I think the events that lead up to his death/exile would really phase him. I think he would realize that there would be nothing left for him in a place where he is hated. It would be an even stupider move on his part to try and take revenge on Simba. So in the end, I believe he would try to start over and live what life he has left.

I think he would allow himself to wither away and die, even if he survived. After all, his entire life, he sought to get the throne from Mufasa, and even managed to do that. For him that was the peak of his life: being proclaimed King of the Pride Lands.

But if he survived Simba's take-over, he knows two things: It's unlikely that he will find a force capable of a take over, and that the Pride won't listen to him again, even if he somehow got a miracle and won again. He won't settle for living alone or ruling some other pride (and heaven forbid be a regular member of one)

With Simba back, Scar not only lost what he worked so hard to get to, but also the only purpose for him to live.

I've never played, read, or gotten into the Kingdom Heart series. But it does look interesting Thanks for posting the video!

If Scar didn't die, he would have probably tried at least one more attempt to kill Simba in the final battle he had with him but then if that failed, he would have probably started a new life somewhere else and become a ruler there and brought the hyenas there along with him. I don't have too many thoughts about this but those are my beliefs.

Now, for a serious answer, if Scar didn't die at the end of the movie, he would ally himself with the only loyal followers he has left: Zira and the Outsiders. Since Scar spent his whole life trying to obtain and retain his powers as king, he would waste no time to have them immediately ambush Pride Rock (if Zazu doesn't notice them first entering the Pride Lands). When if this occurs, these two scenarios would happen:

• Scenario 1: If they win, the monarchy is restored unto Scar with Kovu as his permanent heir, and Simba and the Pridelanders get exiled (if they can't all be murdered).
  
• Scenario 2: If they lose, Simba exiles the Outsiders to the Outlands, and Scar and Zira would agree to train Kovu to kill Simba since Scar lost to Simba twice.

Now, if Scenario 2 happens, Scar would be an old lion, and if he doesn't survive during the training period, then in Scar's mind, if Kovu defeats Simba and restores the kingdom into darkness he had created before, he will be satisified. If he does survive and Kovu defeats Simba, he will either becomes the king once again or give the kingdom over to Kovu knowing he's too old for the responsiblities as king.
