How Important is Zazu to the Storyline?
Any excuse to have Rowan Atkinson in your movie.
Short awnser: not very. Long awnser: nooooooooooootttt verrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyy

All he did as a character was, do what people told him to and get pushed about by everyone, poor bird even got put in the birdy boiler... How's that for importance? I think that when you have a character who, if you took out of the film, really wouldn't have changed much at all, equals an unimportant character... Gota love him though :P
Because without him, we would have a 20 minutes long TLK movie  If the cubs went alone, they would be lunch for the hyenas. While Nala.. does nothing but be the character's 'love interest'. :/

I don't like Zazu that much but he did save Simba and Nala in a kind of way but i think he could have saved Mufasa if he went looking for help earlier.

Zazu was only important for the fact that he was a major tattle-tell and told on anything that got in the way of him and his perfect life. Oh wait, it that important? I guess not. But he did help... oh wait, what did he help with?

I'm beat.

Also every movie needs an annoying person and Zazu is perfect for that.

I officially love Zazu in the play! Don't think of me badly, but I think he's cute. Oh my gosh, I can't believe I said that! 0.o

Well, he did show Mufasa where Simba was in the graveyard and the gorge.
