I mean, in the first movie, she is Simba's playmate.. woo! and then she finds Simba, I'm pretty sure that Sarabi, Sarafina, or any of the other lionesses could have left the Pride lands and gone off to find Simba.... >>

And in the second movie, Any of the other lionesses could have walked up to simba and said all that stuff about worrying when simba was up and stalking kiara and kovu... And i'm pretty sure that ANYONE (including failure zazu) could have told simba that the river was about to kill him....

She's actually pretty darned useless
lol, again, I'll have to slightly disagree at least, with the points you made about Nala in TLK1 anyways. :) I don't think any other lioness (aside from maybe Sarabi, since that's Simba's mother) would have had the same impact upon Simba when it came to convincing him to return back to The Pride Lands. Since Nala was his cub-hood friend and they had such a strong bond to one another, Simba would be more inclined to take her advice over say, any other lioness within the pride, so in that respect, I think Nala wasn't useless at all, nor do I really think she is a useless character in either film but again, this is just my opinion and nothing against yours Morri. ^^
I didn't say convince him to come back....I said find him. :P And I could argue that Rafiki is really the one that convinced him to go back, it just took Nala pissing him off to go to Rafiki... And I'm sure that if a random lioness came up to me and started telling me what to do, i'd get pissed off and leave. soo...

lol, that's sort of pointless then to point out though Morri, since yeah, any member of the pride could have found simba, but the underlying point to why they would want to find him is the point that I got from what you said. Remember that Nala wasn't trying to find Simba specifically. She was just trying to find help in general. She happened upon Simba though, and again, my point about them having a strong past together is the reason why she was important to that scene and why no other random character (aside from maybe Sarabi like I said) could fill the role and have the same results.

lol, okay, well, if you want to get that technical, I'd say that Mufasa's spirit was the one who truly convinced Simba to go back but now we're just clutching at straws, so I won't say anything more about that. lol. :) Again though, I wasn't trying to rain on your opinions buddy, just giving my own in response to yours was all. ^^

lol.. I was just saying stuff for the sake of an argument.. XD.. I love Nala.. But yeh, only Nala could pull Simba's heartstrings enough to make him contemplate going back... But anyone could find him..

It was a disappointment that Nala's role in Simba's Pride wasn't extended.

In the first movie, her role is not only being Simba's childhood friend but she becomes the one who plays a role to convince Simba to return to Pride Rock, along with Mufasa's ghost and Rafiki.

It would have been much nicer if Kiara and Nala had some mother-daughter bonding, but her role was important to the extent that it did not change the movie as we know it. She convinces Simba to give Kovu a chance, I think is her most important moment.

Just an opinion, however Nala still plays a role. In a way, she is much wiser and I feel, she is in a way Simba's strength...
meh, I that's one of the many reasons I don't like the second movie so well. they completely screwed up Simba's and Nala's personalities. in the first movie, Nala is a very strong female character who's never afraid to back down from what she believes. she's a natural leader and always concerned about her pride and friends. in the second movie, she's practically not involved in anything important. maybe the people doing TLK 2 just didn't pay enough attention to the first movie.
