Wow! I didn't realize that connection between the bird and Kiara before. I believe that Kiara was happy when it was out but sad when it was in was b/c all what Kiara wants is some freedom from her overprotective father. Freedom is a part of Kiara's wants in her life instead of being held in all the time.

This was one of my favorite seens <3 I think she realized that she would never be as free as she wanted to be.
