I'm not too surprised this guy hasn't been mentioned yet, but still, thought I'd get the discussion started.
Nick Glennie-Smith was the man chosen to follow in the footsteps of Hans Zimmer, and composed the score for Simba's Pride. He may or may not have also done background music for the various songs in the movie, I don't know.
While Hans Zimmer is often praised here for his work in TLK, it seems NGS's in SP is vastly overlooked...although I guess not entirely without reason. But anyway, what did you think of his efforts in SP?
I, personally, found the score in SP fairly good. Nowhere near the level of the first movie, but Simba's Pride did have it's musical moments that were not during any of the songs.
