Greeting Team

Hi! Welcome to the Feedback forum.
Before reading anything or asking anything; please check out the FAQs. Your question might be in there. However if you want a better understanding after reading the FAQs, like if it didn't explain it good enough, then by all means ask your question.

Please read the following before posting in this forum...

In this forum you will see an Announcement, and several "sticky" topics. The announcement is the Universal Board Rules. If you are new, read this before doing anything else! The sticky topics will stay above and separated from normal user-made topics in the forum. This is because they outline important information about the board. If you see a sticky topic concerning your issue, please reply with your question or concern in the correct topic. Moderators will see your reply within these topics. Before asking your question, be sure to read the topic and its first page especially. It contains information about your issue that is valuable and may even answer your questions. If the topic does not answer your question, ask your question within the topic, not the forum. If no sticky topic concerns your issue, then you are welcome to ask your own questions by creating a new topic within the forum.

Thank you for keeping the Board Help forum organized!

Greeting Team

Just an introductory thread here - viewtopic.php?f=11&t=18494 which gave me an idea.
Part of what made me stick around on MLK when I initially joined and made my little intro thread was just how friendly and welcoming everyone was at the time.
So the little idea I am throwing here is, why not have a specific group of people, either by a new usergroup or more appropriately, just a little icon perhaps in their signature which indicates they are part of the greeting team? And people on said team, would have to regularly welcome new members.

I think having a little more of an emphasis on it, would prevent things like the thread I posted above, where someone may not feel welcomed (it makes the forum look rather inactive, not to mention it is just a bit discouraging.)
And then people would see the little icon, and think "Hmm I could check the introduction area and greet some new members."

Oh, this is a great idea! I'd love to be part of the... can I name it? MLK Welcoming Committee! :3

Excellent idea, I hope Moka enforces it!

Err... shouldn't we greet people because we're friendly, not because it's our job? x3

Well, I suppose if people want to do it its fine. As long as it's not too official or formal or anything. ^^

You bet! But this is more a way of reminding people to actually go and greet new members more than anything else =)

This is a great idea Flip, I would also love to be a part of this, it would be pretty cool :) If Moka let's us do this, I'd be happy to make a user bar or a little stamp for the group =)
