Using previous memberHQ threads system

Hi! Welcome to the Feedback forum.
Before reading anything or asking anything; please check out the FAQs. Your question might be in there. However if you want a better understanding after reading the FAQs, like if it didn't explain it good enough, then by all means ask your question.

Please read the following before posting in this forum...

In this forum you will see an Announcement, and several "sticky" topics. The announcement is the Universal Board Rules. If you are new, read this before doing anything else! The sticky topics will stay above and separated from normal user-made topics in the forum. This is because they outline important information about the board. If you see a sticky topic concerning your issue, please reply with your question or concern in the correct topic. Moderators will see your reply within these topics. Before asking your question, be sure to read the topic and its first page especially. It contains information about your issue that is valuable and may even answer your questions. If the topic does not answer your question, ask your question within the topic, not the forum. If no sticky topic concerns your issue, then you are welcome to ask your own questions by creating a new topic within the forum.

Thank you for keeping the Board Help forum organized!

Spam LK related forums?, how?, LOL.

and I'll ask you something, if you want a ''friendly forum'' just for talking and doing nothing but talking and discussing OT stuff, why don't you go through one of the hundred ones out there instead of a TLK one?...

Just because one member made a mistake, doesn't mean that everyone else should suffer the consequences. If one member abuses the chat section, they need to be told that what they did was wrong and not to do it again.

Regulus is right: If we impose a requirement to post in the TLK sections, new members will only spam them in order to get into the Q&A threads. If anything, that will guarantee the death of the TLK sections. If right now they are somewhat active, but all the topics are useful, if we impose a requirement, the spam generated will kill off the TLK sections for good.

Let's not change the system. The system is not broken, it's new members who abuse it that are. There isn't anything you can do about it except for to try and get them to change themselves.

You could spam anything and anywhere if you wanted to, trust me.

And, that's definitely not what I meant to say (about a friendly forum). I just wanted to say that members should be let to use the forum as they want to. If they enjoy posting in OT sections, why stopping them? Everyone's here mainly because of TLK, that's for sure. But forcing someone to post somewhere in order to get something else is just... Too much. That's it.

Biggest problem: THIS is not happening... and maybe if it did happen it should solve the problem. The point is, it isn't happening. (and if it is being done... it somehow fails horribly...)

Then at least someone who spams useless ''stuff'' 3 or 4 times should be getting a warning.

Lets focus on the main issue which is that instead of just getting topics locked have discipline.

Like if people have to post in Lion King sections, before they can use the den, then they will just hurry through it. Like this meme says
Personally, I don't think this is a good idea. This is a friendly forum, with relaxed members and that is how it should be. Friendly atmosphere is what keeps members here. More strict rules would only tear it apart. It's simple. No one likes to spend its time on a forum he doesn't feel comfortable on.

Not to mention that this might lead to another problem: new members might (in order to get a privilege to post in OT sections) start spamming in LK related forums, which is much worse.
Just as an example of why this is irrelevant:

In 2 days, you already had 10 posts in the TLK sections. All of your first posts were in the TLK sections, with the exception of your welcome thread (which, those would still be allowed, of course). You would definitely not be affected by this in any way.

The members that would be affected are the ones that join and go straight to the member HQ immediately, without even realizing this is a TLK forum.

Posting useless "stuff" isn't against the rules.

Just as woeler say, Is it really impossible to deal with the members that spam TLK sections?, I mean, is it really THAT hard to delate the post and warm the person? =/

I know what you mean, but c'mon, if we get 2 of 5 people to do good posts on TLK threads, then we're doing better than getting 0 people posting on TLK threads...

Isn't that the opposite of what you were advocating for earlier? So it's ok for mods to clean up the TLK sections but not the den?
