Using previous memberHQ threads system

Hi! Welcome to the Feedback forum.
Before reading anything or asking anything; please check out the FAQs. Your question might be in there. However if you want a better understanding after reading the FAQs, like if it didn't explain it good enough, then by all means ask your question.

Please read the following before posting in this forum...

In this forum you will see an Announcement, and several "sticky" topics. The announcement is the Universal Board Rules. If you are new, read this before doing anything else! The sticky topics will stay above and separated from normal user-made topics in the forum. This is because they outline important information about the board. If you see a sticky topic concerning your issue, please reply with your question or concern in the correct topic. Moderators will see your reply within these topics. Before asking your question, be sure to read the topic and its first page especially. It contains information about your issue that is valuable and may even answer your questions. If the topic does not answer your question, ask your question within the topic, not the forum. If no sticky topic concerns your issue, then you are welcome to ask your own questions by creating a new topic within the forum.

Thank you for keeping the Board Help forum organized!

KristinaKiara wrote:Personally, I don't think this is a good idea. This is a friendly forum, with relaxed members and that is how it should be. Friendly atmosphere is what keeps members here. More strict rules would only tear it apart. It's simple. No one likes to spend its time on a forum he doesn't feel comfortable on.

Not to mention that this might lead to another problem: new members might (in order to get a privilege to post in OT sections) start spamming in LK related forums, which is much worse.

Just as an example of why this is irrelevant:

In 2 days, you already had 10 posts in the TLK sections. All of your first posts were in the TLK sections, with the exception of your welcome thread (which, those would still be allowed, of course). You would definitely not be affected by this in any way.

The members that would be affected are the ones that join and go straight to the member HQ immediately, without even realizing this is a TLK forum.

Biggest problem: THIS is not happening... and maybe if it did happen it should solve the problem. The point is, it isn't happening. (and if it is being done... it somehow fails horribly...)

Then at least someone who spams useless ''stuff'' 3 or 4 times should be getting a warning.

Posting useless "stuff" isn't against the rules.

Just as woeler say, Is it really impossible to deal with the members that spam TLK sections?, I mean, is it really THAT hard to delate the post and warm the person? =/

I know what you mean, but c'mon, if we get 2 of 5 people to do good posts on TLK threads, then we're doing better than getting 0 people posting on TLK threads...

Isn't that the opposite of what you were advocating for earlier? So it's ok for mods to clean up the TLK sections but not the den?

I just thought the same thing.

But should it be?

Useless stuff is very hard to specifically define. It's a point of view.

Yes, but one thing different from what Tora was saying is that I'm looking for a new rule to regulate this spam, instead Tora wants to keep with it let more spam to get generated. I think if less Spam is made, it'll make things easier for mods.

It will be easier to clean up for the mods, but not easier to enforce. That's like saying it'll be easier for the garbagemen to collect trash if we have strict trash laws that the police enforce.

Here is your problem; the spam will not be less it will just be moved from one section to the other.

I don't know if it is any possible to make people stop posting useless stuff, but if we prevent MLK from getting new members that come here only to post those, then something's being done.

Khanu, who's the moderator watching the chatroom?, I mean, as I can see, technology is advanced enough to do it automatically, or not?

and Tora: try to TALK in a TLK thread ;), even then, is easier to keep one little section clear from a Spam which will be hard to generate, cause lol, I don't think it is any easier to make spam like the one made on the den in sections about TLK.
