Prides

Hi! Welcome to the Feedback forum.
Before reading anything or asking anything; please check out the FAQs. Your question might be in there. However if you want a better understanding after reading the FAQs, like if it didn't explain it good enough, then by all means ask your question.

Please read the following before posting in this forum...

In this forum you will see an Announcement, and several "sticky" topics. The announcement is the Universal Board Rules. If you are new, read this before doing anything else! The sticky topics will stay above and separated from normal user-made topics in the forum. This is because they outline important information about the board. If you see a sticky topic concerning your issue, please reply with your question or concern in the correct topic. Moderators will see your reply within these topics. Before asking your question, be sure to read the topic and its first page especially. It contains information about your issue that is valuable and may even answer your questions. If the topic does not answer your question, ask your question within the topic, not the forum. If no sticky topic concerns your issue, then you are welcome to ask your own questions by creating a new topic within the forum.

Thank you for keeping the Board Help forum organized!
Also, maybe there should be a punishment if a member gives another member the password to their pride...?
I was thinking that, but then I thought that it would be a bit strict to be giving official board warnings for it or anything like that. I mean you are a staff member, so I guess that part is up to you guys but personally I think it will come down to having to trust people not to do that, I mean it kind of is trolling which is against the board rules anyway...

I didn't exactly mean a warning, although I guess that could work. Maybe being banned from joining prides?

I'm not sure the standing is on this currently, but last time I talked to Moka about he seemed open to the idea of this. *shrugs*

That is cool, thanks for the update, WS =).
Yeah I can understand that, we would need Moka to start this really, and I can understand that he might be busy at the moment. Not like we are in a rush or anything ^^

Sorry >.<

As far as how I would implement it: I would create a new usergroup for each pride and assign the group leader(s) as the pride leader(s). He or she or they will then be able to manage the members on their own with the staff's supervision. We want to give freedom to the pride leaders, but we don't want anyone feeling left out if they didn't do anything wrong :P Each pride forum would have permissions set up so that only members of the group may enter the forum.

I'm still thinking of ways to restrict who gets to create a pride. I think new prides should be unique among other prides and there should be some way of limiting the number of prides on the site. Any ideas?

Allot a certain amount of prides to be made, and perhaps if a user only comes on about once or twice a month, then they shouldn't be able to be the leader because they won't be there if something bad happens. All other users may create/lead a pride. Or perhaps... having a certain number of strikes?

First off, I think anyone with an official warning on their account when they request a pride should get denied. Their prides and be put on hold until the warning expires. Same with an existing pride. If the leader gets an official warning the pride can be put on hold, or the pride could get a new leader. Other then that, I think the pride should be unique to the other prides. It shouldn't be just a HEY JOIN MY PRIDE group. But as an example The Dark Pride, was a small thing we had a while back. That's pretty unique, so something as that such can get a pride if not like any other one.

Other then that, yeah, I think it'd be good.
