"Adult" Board?

Hi! Welcome to the Feedback forum.
Before reading anything or asking anything; please check out the FAQs. Your question might be in there. However if you want a better understanding after reading the FAQs, like if it didn't explain it good enough, then by all means ask your question.

Please read the following before posting in this forum...

In this forum you will see an Announcement, and several "sticky" topics. The announcement is the Universal Board Rules. If you are new, read this before doing anything else! The sticky topics will stay above and separated from normal user-made topics in the forum. This is because they outline important information about the board. If you see a sticky topic concerning your issue, please reply with your question or concern in the correct topic. Moderators will see your reply within these topics. Before asking your question, be sure to read the topic and its first page especially. It contains information about your issue that is valuable and may even answer your questions. If the topic does not answer your question, ask your question within the topic, not the forum. If no sticky topic concerns your issue, then you are welcome to ask your own questions by creating a new topic within the forum.

Thank you for keeping the Board Help forum organized!

Ugh, edited my post to add more. I tend to think of more things after I submit my posts XD

As I said, if they can't handle it and remain respectful, then they should stay away from such threads/from the board. It's not that hard. Personally, I like having a good debate as long as things don't get out of hand. As far as I remember, Sillydog's thread was handled really well from both teenager and adult members, so I believe we're mature enough to have such strong discussions.

Yeah, me too, I always add extra xD

Oh I do believe we are certainly mature enough to handle it for the most part. I've really only seen 1 user that couldn't handle it, and he left MLK preaching that this place was a prison -_-' I just really think it's better to merely have light discussion and not heavy-duty debate about it. Because even the most respectable and composed members can get their feather fluffed. Whatevs, though. We'll see what Moka says. If he comes online today :?

Well, we can always make special rules just for that board. Personally, I believe that you should be allowed in only if the staff believes you're mature enough to have such discussions, or something similar.

Yeah, exactly, if they see you've made meaningful posts and such. I hate age limits for the most part, we don't all act our age  That's my take on the limits, though, I agree with you and Azdgari.

Wow, you guys have left me a lot to read!

Firstly, the 18+ thing was just an idea, we might even do it invitation only. Only members we trust and know would be alright talking about that stuff.
And it wouldn't JUST be about religion, sex and politics, those were JUST 3 examples I gave! You could talk about ANYTHING in there! TLK related or not.
I don't think views should break up friends, like...umm...someone said. If you're good enough friends, matter of opinion wouldn't matter too much!

Moka said he likes the idea, it's just how to set it up and run it, so people would be able to use it maturely and not abuse it.

Why not also have a poll - see how many members are for the idea and how many are against it?
Let the numbers do the talking

Yeah, the invite thing is a good idea. Would this be acceptable as well? Recommending someone you think is mature enough to a mod and presenting them a post/many posts/explanation this person made as evidence.

As I said, don't worry 8-) I wouldn't of posted it if I didn't want anyone to see it.

Of course we would talk about more things than just those 3, but I'm saying I personally think there should be limits on how deeply you discuss such things. And obviously harshly criticizing someone else's beliefs would not be acceptable.

Talking about sex, what? We are all innocent virgins here on MLK

I have no idea why I said that :/

Of course I think the core rules should still be around. Such as no trolling, flaming, insulting and saying someone is wrong for what they believe in. You can disagree and still be nice :)

I think recommendations is a good idea too!
