Personally, I like this idea. It'd be a nice way to get to know others and give the forum a more lively place. To prevent drama, maybe the staff will have to approve a member before they can join any prides..? Maybe that way we'll have mature people in the prides that won't cause drama.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I seem to remember that one of the problems was that, with members not being happy about not being allowed dens, there would be no way they would be happy being in different prides / denied entry to one...
However, with the removal of member dens entirely that kind of eliminates that problem, and other changes since then (not to mention new members to voice their opinion) I would like the idea to be re thought if possible.

I'm having mixed emotions as to how this would work. Obviously,it may be a lot of fun,but on the other hand it might cause drama. Same old story that has been said,I know. This whole thing would probably have a subforum,right?

There'd be no sense in it with the Member HQ, though. You can make any member-related thread there, basically. So nothings telling you, you couldn't make a pride there.

I know,that's what I'm thinking as well, with that and the chatroom there's plenty of member to member communication aside from topics. But this whole thing is, as far as I understood, supposed to be a whole lot more than just a few threads.

Okay a little more detail time, me thinks.
Look at how The Lounge is now, it is set up as follows.

And inside The Lounge is the following forums, right?

Now what I proposed is another forum to be added there

Now within that prides forum would be password protected sub forums, that a member can create (whether the staff want to set requirements for being able to create one is up to you guys), by contacting the staff (because Moka would have to approve it and create it). And the description for each sub forum would contain requirements to join (if any), maybe a brief summary as well as name of the current pride leader, which is who members contact to join that pride. And if the pride leader accepts, the applicant is given the password to join them.

There would be no promotion of ranks within them per se, but leadership can be handed down to a member if the leader were to be away for a while (since all they have to really do is accept new members). I also thought that members would only be able to join 1 pride at a time, if caught in more than one they can be "exiled" (wherein the password is changed and given to everyone except the "perpetrator"). But to make it a bit more fair, they would be able to re join after 30 days or so.

At first I thought it would just be a good way for members to get chatting with people they may not know as well otherwise, and then YFWE added the rather brilliant idea of hosting friendly competitions between prides in addition.

So yeah, that is that. And since a lot of people liked the idea, I thought it would be good for people to post any negatives here, so that workarounds could be made to it and then it could possibly be something that can be implemented. One of the points was "Since there is drama over member dens, there would be some over this." but now member dens are gone, I think that has been debunked now.

I've actually seen it work in other sites rather nicely. I doubt we'll have a problem here, as long as the leaders put rules and requirements so they'll have a solid reason for not letting someone in their pride. I say let's go for it. ^^

Also, maybe there should be a punishment if a member gives another member the password to their pride...?
