Using previous memberHQ threads system

Hi! Welcome to the Feedback forum.
Before reading anything or asking anything; please check out the FAQs. Your question might be in there. However if you want a better understanding after reading the FAQs, like if it didn't explain it good enough, then by all means ask your question.

Please read the following before posting in this forum...

In this forum you will see an Announcement, and several "sticky" topics. The announcement is the Universal Board Rules. If you are new, read this before doing anything else! The sticky topics will stay above and separated from normal user-made topics in the forum. This is because they outline important information about the board. If you see a sticky topic concerning your issue, please reply with your question or concern in the correct topic. Moderators will see your reply within these topics. Before asking your question, be sure to read the topic and its first page especially. It contains information about your issue that is valuable and may even answer your questions. If the topic does not answer your question, ask your question within the topic, not the forum. If no sticky topic concerns your issue, then you are welcome to ask your own questions by creating a new topic within the forum.

Thank you for keeping the Board Help forum organized!

Not to get anyone mad at me but I'd like to put in my ideas.

First things first, you all need to stop fighting about this. It's nonesense that will drive potential members away from the forum, and nonetheless it's rude. I barley read what you had to aay to eachother because it was simply rude. Please, try to be nicer to eachother and solve this without hurting feelings.

Second. To stop new members from just going to the HQ instantly. Maybe they would have to have 50 posts in the TLK sections before they can post in the HQ? It would help the TLK parts have more activity and will get more roleplays rolling. It's just my thought, I'm not sure anyone will like this, but it's inbetween what you both said. I do believe the HQ is crowded, but maybe this could solve a little Og the problem? I hope so.

SimbaCanHazDonut I can see talking to you that you fail to see my point of view. Just because something in your eyes isn't good for the forum doesn't mean it is the same in others. You are the one closed minded as I have explained thoroughly. I can live with it in that system, but that doesn't make it right. You are so set on one goal that you fail to see how it would effect the forum as a whole. If you understood how people think than maybe you would see my point. If someone sees something and likes it; he is bond to tell others about it, but if he finds something that is boring and he has to wait forever to get to something good he is more likely to tell others not to even bother with it. This forum is Lion King themed and must be that way, as no one can talk about a movie forever.

I'm done arguing with you, because until you can present something valuable to support your claim I will not be moved to agree with you. Let's agree to disagree and move on. I see my point you see yours. I will never support a state of totalitarianism.

You mean that even when you're the ONLY one who is totally in disagree with the idea, I'm the one talking for everyone, right?
This forum is Lion King themed and must be that way, as no one can talk about a movie forever.
Yeah but at least talk about something else, make debates about other stuff, even OT, but why must we have 100 chat threads that have the same usage, when we can have only one, and then be more organized.

Fine. I'm happy at least the majority has seen my point, which is not to totally remove them, but regulate them for the good of the forum.

That could work too, maybe even less posts, some 30 on TLK sections, I like this, we could also add a regulation with time, like the chatroom, let's say 3 weeks-1 month or more before you can post on them and about 5 to create your own Q&A?

I mean, this could make people actually want to stick longer in the forum and would solve our problems with overposting the HQsection.

I think that we should remove all of the chat threads and Q&A threads of inactive people. And if they become active again, hey, they can make a new one.

You guys are turning this into a huge problem when it really isn't. =/ If a member is inactive then it's likely they wont need their chat thread, but if a member IS active then they might want it. And we already have a community chat place, the chat room, which is sadly dead 99.9% of the time. A thread for community discussion in Members HQ is just like the chatroom, which means it could die just as quickly. You guys are making this look like a HUGE problem that takes so much work to fix, when really it's just a few newer members and a problem that can quite easily be fixed...

And about having to have a certain number of posts before going to member HQ... idk about that. On one hand, getting the TLK sections active again would be nice, but on the other, forcing newer members to post in TLK areas might not be the best approach.

I meant the whole "50 posts until you can use the Den" type of rule. This isn't the first time it's been brought up I mean

Well maybe not forcing them to post there, but waiting for a time before they can't post in threads is not quite bad either, I mean, it will actually not force but influence them to post in the TLK sections which would be the enabled ones for they.

But yeah arani, it will take some work to fix, but you're all about 6 moderators, while I think that back then, when they did the opposite, you know, making it free for everyone to have one, it was a loooot of work too, so what's your problem with it?

Ok guys, what about this:

Any Q&A thread or chat thread that is inactive for 90 days is automatically deleted.

A new member must have at least 10 posts in the kingdom and fandom sections before being able to post in the other sections of the board.

A new member must have at least 50 posts in the kingdom and fandom sections before being able to create their own Q&A or chat thread.

Even as one of the more active members, it took me several months before I created my own Q&A thread, and I still don't have my own chat thread. Because it isn't necessary.

We also should have a restriction of time, I mean, a person could easily rush with this like ''let's post anything on the section whatever it is just to get the 50 posts quickly''

and I don't this this is a thing ONLY for new members, I think this should go for EVERYONE in the forum.

I say finish all the chat threads and make just a few, instead of a chillion threads used FOR THE SAME THING.
