Stop Censorship Banner

Hi! Welcome to the Feedback forum.
Before reading anything or asking anything; please check out the FAQs. Your question might be in there. However if you want a better understanding after reading the FAQs, like if it didn't explain it good enough, then by all means ask your question.

Please read the following before posting in this forum...

In this forum you will see an Announcement, and several "sticky" topics. The announcement is the Universal Board Rules. If you are new, read this before doing anything else! The sticky topics will stay above and separated from normal user-made topics in the forum. This is because they outline important information about the board. If you see a sticky topic concerning your issue, please reply with your question or concern in the correct topic. Moderators will see your reply within these topics. Before asking your question, be sure to read the topic and its first page especially. It contains information about your issue that is valuable and may even answer your questions. If the topic does not answer your question, ask your question within the topic, not the forum. If no sticky topic concerns your issue, then you are welcome to ask your own questions by creating a new topic within the forum.

Thank you for keeping the Board Help forum organized!

Since the websites http://americancensorship.org and http://fightforthefuture.org are both mysteriously down, I'm removing the banner for now.

Looks like both bills are dead then. Last I heard, one was still alive, but that was a few days ago.

It's good to see the ol' MLK banner back without the black box of doom. :)

Don't jump for joy yet, guys. From what I can tell the Protect IP act was defeated, but SOPA itself is still very much alive. I haven't been able to find anything online that says it has been defeated. The fact that americancensorship.org isn't working for some of us is a bit unsettling as well...

What I heard is that Congress had a debate on it, but for some reason only allowed proponents of SOPA to talk. Any opposition wasn't given any speech time.
1. Is that even a debate then?
2. Someone needs to teach congress a lesson. I hope that everyone who supports SOPA knows that they committed political suicide.

This is seriously beginning to worry me. At first I kind of shrugged it off because of its unlikeliness of getting passed. With americancensorship.org down and opponents of the bill not being allowed to speak in the debate, I worry about what else may happen in the coming time between now and the voting of the bill.

It is actually highly unsettling. The fact that some of us are able to visit it (at campus I can get to it but at home I can't) means that it is very likely that the website is blocked on some ISPs. (So far it seems to be blocked for CenturyLink and TDS). This is just what I've observed, and I'm not sure if that's what's actually going on. Unsettling, nontheless.
