Still Unresolved

Hi! Welcome to the Feedback forum.
Before reading anything or asking anything; please check out the FAQs. Your question might be in there. However if you want a better understanding after reading the FAQs, like if it didn't explain it good enough, then by all means ask your question.

Please read the following before posting in this forum...

In this forum you will see an Announcement, and several "sticky" topics. The announcement is the Universal Board Rules. If you are new, read this before doing anything else! The sticky topics will stay above and separated from normal user-made topics in the forum. This is because they outline important information about the board. If you see a sticky topic concerning your issue, please reply with your question or concern in the correct topic. Moderators will see your reply within these topics. Before asking your question, be sure to read the topic and its first page especially. It contains information about your issue that is valuable and may even answer your questions. If the topic does not answer your question, ask your question within the topic, not the forum. If no sticky topic concerns your issue, then you are welcome to ask your own questions by creating a new topic within the forum.

Thank you for keeping the Board Help forum organized!

It's just a .gif, it's not like it was an attack on the mod in question or anyone else. If I got a picture like that as a reply in a PM, I'd laugh. It's harmless.

Maybe if the Oprah in the picture gave everyone a car, we wouldn't be having this problem.

Wha? :wha:

Not all people see things the same way. I'd laugh at the pic too. But there are other people who might take it offensively.

I would probably send one back to them :P

Okay so the incident was a joke taken too seriously but in case people have forgot, the point in this thread was to discuss the rule of not being able to discuss staff decisions / warnings on the forum / chat-room, not what happened with Silly the other day.

And on that note in fact people are already discussing a staff decision in public in this thread anyway, so I still think we should just remove the rule and be done with it.

I've talked to SillyDog on MSN about the warning and we cleared things up. (P.S. see how it got all worked out without drama and very fast on MSN,rather than it being dragged around on two pages in a topic)
But I just don't understand it,why can't you disucuss your warnings via MSN with your friends or via PMs with the mods, what's the deal with making it public? It runs like this on every forum on the internet,so why is it a problem here?
I'll repeat, we are not here to discuss about why someone got a warning,we're here because of TLK.

Okay I'm gonna put my mind into this. If I make anyone mad, I'm sorry. It was by accident.

I agree mostly with Ivan. He said:
you are allowed to discuss a mod's decisions but you can do it via PMs,it has always been this way and it's like this on EVERY other forum. This rule was there always and we never had a problem. For instance, why would someone fairly new who is here to discuss about TLK want to hear why some XY or XX got a warning for. No,that's not good for the forum and is only bound to provoke drama. If you have a problem PM the staff member, what's so hard about that?
I mean, come on, why is it a problem to send a PM. We other members dont wanna hear about how or why you got a warning. It's your buisiness and no one elses, so deal with it where only you and the mod can hear.

Ivan also said:
This whole issue arose over me handing out a second warning to a certain member, which was not because the member posted in the chatroom but because the member has show a great deal of disrespect towards me on a PM sent after I gave the member the first warning.
Everyone has a right to feel disrespected. We're free to feel what we want people. I can see why he felt disrespected. I'd personaly laugh, but he apperently thought it wasn't funny at the time, and that's alright. I do not agree with the second warning, but still, we got rights.

I agree with everything that AC said as well. Come on people. All the mods r wonderful ppl who do all they can for us here, but they cant make this place better if we don't talk to them! A little communication is all it takes. Just deal with it privatly so we dont have to listen to it. And if it become an issue, then it'll be dealt with how the mod(s) see fit. There's nothing we can do about that. All we can do is talk to them and hope they make the right decissions. They might not always make the right ones, but they do the best we can and we cant expect any more than that.

Alright, that's all I've got to say.

Nothing says that discussing it on MSN can't take place when someone discusses it on-forum. Also Ivan, you seem to really be missing the fact that we're not contesting the individual warning here, rather, the rule itself. Perhaps you'll be better able to discuss this when you figure out what it is we have a problem with.

Um, I don't think you should talk to a Mod that way =/ We must repect our Moderators of MLK :confident:

And I'm not even sure what the problem is anymore :nehneh:

Exactly,so you can discuss it on MSN just as well, even better actually, good call.
And as Arani stated it quite well, have you considered that some members don't want to hear about your complaining in the chatroom/forum.
I understand very well what we are contesting here, thank you for your concern though. Perhaps you should take a better look at the posts before, so you can actually say something beneficial to that matter rather than calling me out,ok? Thank you very much.

The rule it's self is not the only problem. Everything to do with the rule is the problem. Getting rid of the rule or making it different will not deal with the problem. Every argument about the rule has to be taken into account, and that includes communicating with Mod's and warnings.
