Whether or not I enter this contest, I am working on a fanfic. It's just taking forever. I'm about 1/3 of the way done, and I'm at 20k words or so. The problem is that I keep changing things as I go, for various reasons.

That's why you write it in chapters, dummy. After all, the big fic that I am writing is over a year old already, if not two. Also, when you release parts, they serve as a platform that you build upon. If you keep changing everything: just release something you are happy with when you write it, and force yourself to continue. Otherwise, you'll never get done.

It's 9 chapters so far.

Then release Chapter 1, wait a while, then chapter 2, wait, and on like that...

What you want to do is have it be that the only chapter that is not released is the one you are currently working on.

I know, I know. I've been considering releasing the first 3 very soon. The others still need revising.

Three days left and still no submissions. I know I will write something on Sunday, but I don't know what you guys are planning...

I'm sure you guys don't want me to win by default and become simultaneously the first member to win the contest three times, as well as be the first to win twice in a row.
