Your prediction on the future of the human race

There are only two options. 1: Humanity, and the rest of life, gets wiped out because of our inability to control the world we created. Or 2: We learn to live with what we have, stabilize, and prosper while keeping net change at a minimum or to a better degree.

I believe that the second option is much, much more likely than the first. I may sound like an optimist, but I am looking at it this way:

As one of many evolved species, we humans have a very strong sense of self preservation. The only reason why humanity is not in a nuclear apocalypse right now is because everyone are too afraid to face it. And it is this fear that will also save us, and the planet.

Right now it is the "hippy happy" thing to try and save the planet. I hope it won't come to it, but eventually, even the greediest, most selfish petrol-head wasteful consumer out there will figure out that they have to go green and save the world. If only because their own skin depends on it.

So the reason might be somewhat cynical, but yes, we will survive.

I've thought about this for years, and this is my prediction for the short term

Within 20ish years, the human population is booming and obvious, resources are short for everyone, and we realize we've been cheated by billionares. Global revolution begins, and eventually many, many people are wiped out. The rest depends on what kind of people are left over.

That my friend, is a bit scary to think about.

But in all terms, the government will realise that what they do is killing the Earth and nontheless, themselves and what they rule over. Like said before, they will change themselves and 'Go Green' to save their own skin, not ours. Yet, once they think it's all fine and dandy, they'll go back to their old ways, and rule themselves to the grave. Meaning, a revolution. Which, though it seems like it, won't happen in our generation!

They can't turn back to the non-green way. Fossil Fuels are simply running out. It's all about thr money, and nothing else.

It's just so hard to predict...

On one hand, we could boom in years and create amazing technology that could actually do some good. We're getting better technology all the time, right?

On the other hand, our governments could kill our world, and that could be done fairly easily.

I think that WW3 will happen. No matter how stupid it is, it's going to happen, there just no way around that fact. I highly doubt it will escalate into a Nuclear War... but, anything can happen. Our governments have proven to be pretty stupid and don't think things through.

Every government in the history of mankind has been pretty stupid in my book. Just as people are saying, it's all about the money. And these idiotic governments spend that money on war and other useless things, while thousands, even millions of people suffer of poverty and such. That money could be put to much better use, but noooooo, our governments have to spend that money on more weapons and more wars and all. That doesn't help us any, no matter which way you slice it. The human race is pretty idiotic.

Then again, look at all of us. We all see what's going on in this world. Why cant we be the change? The change WILL NOT happen in our governments. We've gotta be the people to change. We've gotta break tradition and start making things better. If we, us normal people, don't make the change, then who will?

Just my bit in this discussion. ;)

I don't see a good future on our own part either. We are still killing each other over ridiculous reasons. Look at the middle-east, look at the poor countries in Africa. People killing and getting killed. What is the difference between a hard working US civilian and a hard working Pakistani civilian? nothing. What is the difference between a hard working European civilian and a hard working African civilian? nothing.

It is time we wake up and realize that our enemy is not in some distant land. They are not people whose names we don't know and cultures we don't understand. The enemy is people we know very well and people we can identify. The enemy is a system that wages war when it is profitable, the enemy is the CEO's who lay us off from our jobs when it is profitable, it is the insurance companies who deny us healthcare when it is profitable, it is the banks who take away our homes when it is profitable.

Our enemies are not 5000 miles away, they are right here at home.

So if we won't destroy ourselves because we simply destroy our planet, we will destroy ourselves by greed. As long as we don't realize that the only problem is our greed. we will always express our greed in the form of killing other human beings and racism.

Humans aren't good beings by nature, that is a lie and a delusion.
