European Union: Britain, remain or leave?

If I had an idea, I'd be delighted to voice it. Sadly I don't, and this is likely gonna be a messy affair unless the shock dies down.

Does anyone think there's gonna be a domino effect of states leaving the EU after this?

Yes, certainly. Poland, The Netherlands and Denmark have basically all said that they'd hold referendums if we voted leave.

Wait, Poland? I thought Poland was one of the states that definitely benefits far more than is harmed by the EU.

Christ, what's going to happen to all the EU immigrants if their countries of residence leave? That'd be a lot of people who'd potentially lose all rights to remain in those countries, are they gonna be allowed to stay because they're already there or are they gonna be forced out?

I don't get it why it causes this kind of negative reactions here. Especially for those who live in UK... We lost like 50% of our trade because of the EU sactions against Russia... now you (UK) got rid of them. Next step is to leave NATO

Some of us have personal reasons as well as general concerns really. It seems the vote has divided the 'United' Kingdom which is risking its unity right now, so that's a thing to be concerned about as well... not sure how that's gonna turn out.

And honestly, I never see the UK leaving NATO (as nice as that would be). Brexit happened under all the wrong circumstances and only gives way for the far-right to continue undisturbed. If it was the left supporting Brexit I might have seen it as a victory, but alas, it was not.

Also considering the Brexit campaign has already admitted to blatant lies right after the results. These are the people that are gonna improve Britain? Please.

I've been interested in this whole thing and trying to read up on it, but being an American who knew basically nothing about the EU before hearing of this, I'm still a bit confused. if anyone has some good resources they could share that explain the pros and cons of staying in the EU vs leaving, I'd really appreciate it!

^ It's a really complex issue that I probably can't sum up in just one post, but basically Brexiters favour leaving the EU so they can regain full control over their country instead of having to abide by EU laws, having to pay a membership fee with money that could be better spent improving their own country and having to allow all immigration from other EU/EEA states. Bremainers are concerned of the repercussions of cutting off ties with the EU and the impact it'll have on the economy and the EU as a whole, as well as the reintroduction of travel visas/losing the right to work in the rest of the EU. From what I've noticed they're also really disillusioned with the UK government and are afraid of what will happen without EU regulations.

Apologies if I've forgotten something right now, if anyone would like to add something/correct me somewhere please do.

Tons of right-wing groups from other countries hailing it makes it all the more concerning. With the apparent appaling state of the Left in the UK it's just gonna pave the way for the right-wing, a sad day for anyone in the UK.

The world needs a military alliance that does nothing except stir up tensions over Europe even less, Cold War mentality helps nothing.
