In terms of sketchiness, Trump does perhaps a bit of an advantage there. Though not by much. I cannot for the life of me call Trump the lesser of two evils, though. It was more they equally sucked in my eyes.

Yeah I know that people here didn't specifically say those things, but I just see it everywhere. I just kind of brought it up the wrong way I guess. It just bugs me how the reaction to this election is one of the worst I've seen. I mean it is laughable how many people are yelling dooms day for the US. I mean Russia wants to restore relations; so that already is a positive from this. And as bad as a single party holding the power is I think it will allow things to actually get done instead of a slow progress that has been the last 8 years. I like many others are just looking for a change in this country. Trump without a doubt was the better candidate.

Trump won because he did really well in rural areas (especially in the midwest) and among those who are uneducated. Why? It's not about racism. It's because they wanted their damn jobs back. Look at what happened in Michigan... and also look at what Bernie pulled against Hillary in Michigan, too. It was Hillary's lack of a clear message and a vision of hope that proved to be her demise.

Hmm... if only the democrats had a candidate that did really well among those disenfranchised voters in rural areas...

Honestly, yeah. I don't even know what Hillary's vision was supposed to be. Bernie had a clearer message but a far weaker candidate ended up becoming the Democrat candidate instead... It's not exactly a big surprise I guess.

The fact pretty much half the nation didn't support him says a lot of other people feel otherwise. I don't really think this spells dooms day. But I do fear what can potentially come of it. It's too early to tell for sure what a Trump presidency will be. We can't say he'll be a good president or a bad one. His campaign was so over the place, that I don't know what to expect from him. Maybe he'll surprise me and be a great president. Maybe he won't, and all my fears will be legitimate. All we can do is wait and see. It's the uncertainty that kills me moreso than any specific candidate winning. As for a single party holding power, I am very opposed to that. No one should have free reign to do whatever you want, Democrat, Republican, or otherwise. The thing people forget is that the government is kind of intended to run slowly. The point of a multiparty system is so no one has too much free reign and power. That inevitably means legislation will be slower, but it insures fairer legislation. The issue is the polarization present in modern politics.

Her vision was, "It's my turn now." But since that didn't sound very nice, her campaign tried experimenting with other things:

And so on... there may be more, I think, but I can't recall another. But if you notice one thing, you'll see nothing about any policy substance. It's mostly just an attempt by Hillary's campaign to paint the scene as Hillary = Good; Trump = Bad. That kind of thing doesn't usually work. I mean, just look at this:

Eh. I'd have voted for Stein most probably, if I lived in the US. But like Brexit, it is what it is and we all need to stick together now and make sure this is as fair for everyone as it can be. Because I don't think the US is "doomed" as people are blowing it out of proportion. But I do think that the next few years with both Brexit and a trump presidency are going to be difficult for a lot of people. And when the time comes, I will do my bit to support them so they can get the help they need while campaigning for better politics and representation. Looking for someone to blame doesn't solve the underlying issue. Did you know that the president of the US is actually a human being like you or I, I think that when the people untie we could create change, change that will help people that will need it over the coming years.

...wow. Is Hillary's ad real? Compared to Trump's it's a complete PC-baity joke. I hate Trump but his ad was very surprisingly effective compared, no wonder he won when her campaign was so poor.

And yeah, even if Stein has said some nutsy things as well I'd probably have voted for her too were I American. Sadly voting third party is just a joke because they get nowhere near enough representation to be even seriously considered.

EDIT: Also can people stop harrassing third party voters telling that their vote only went to Trump? It's really stupid considering both parties are awful, this whole "vote for the lesser evil" state of affairs really needs to stop.

All I can say? Congratulations, America. You may have ruined the lives of many people, but, apparently, their religion, ethnicity, sexuality, etc is what defines them. I just hope things won't be as bad as thought.

That doesn't change the fact that more than half of the American population believes hate is the solution to "fix the country". That's what saddens me, honestly.

I've been telling you people that America is an unpleasant hate-filled place for years. This should come as a surprise to no one. Life continues to do what it's good at, which is being craptacular.

I am really, really sick of being lumped with racists, sexists, and homophobes. Take off your media-filtered lenses for a second. Do you seriously think America has 59,588,437 Ku Klux Klan sympathizers? Clearly, there is more going on. I, along with millions of people, voted for Trump because I felt disenfranchised and angry at the status quo. I am angry that the powerful elite sabotaged the Bernie Sanders campaign because they decided Hillary Clinton was better for us. I am angry that the media, time and again, ignored, belittled, and deceived us. This election was not racists vs. non-racists. It was establishment vs. anti-establishment.

As someone stated earlier, Trump does not have any legislative power even if he does fly off the handle. He still does not have the support of establishment Republicans, and they control the House and Senate. Breathe, the world keeps spinning.
