A huge earthquake in Japan
The death toll is expected to exceed 10,000, and climbing. I can't believe this is happening. It's so horrible. My heart goes out to all the Japanese people that have been affected by this disaster. :(
And for all those people that are saying negative things about Japan (I won't go into detail because I don't want to offend anyone here), they can go drown in a river..
Oh than almost all of the Singaporean youths would be drowning now. I was in school and ppl were complaining how this had a negative impact on their studies and they had to discard some knowledge and memorize this tokyo earthquake. Rather than feeling sympathy most of them are just whinning why Tokyo had an earthquake at this time and one indian guy even said they shud just be destroyed after our exams. Believe me a lot of ppl in sg are quite heartless. :/ its sad but true.

Yes, I've heard negative things about Japan too. Saying "Why should we help them? They're nothing special"
That is sickening. I can't believe a person said that about another human being(s).

I really hope help gets there fast and can find the missing and save the injured :( My heart really goes out to everyone affected.
To be fair though (not that I am agreeing or disagreeing with them here) I could think of possible reasons why people would think like that. Personally I think all hate should be put aside for a disaster such of this magnitude but there will always be a minority who dislike Japan.

Like my post above, we had some strain history with japan and a lot of ppl here aren't really too friendly. If you go to the center of singapore there will be this monument and you will know why.
I' gonna add a number 4.

4. (This is a what if.) The nuclear bomb actually goes off. 0_o Which i dont think it would, but it could. There's ALWAYS a possibility, no matter where you are.
This is why we shouldn't make nuclear bombs... What the hell, imagine if one of them went off by accident.. I don't understand why nuclear bombs are still being made, you'd think that civilization would be much more civil than that in the 21th century. Madness.

Anyway, I'll be honest.. I took it rather lightly when I first heard of the earthquake and the tsunami. (I'm coldhearted, I know..) I had to actually think how terrible it would be if I had friends there and they all died to start feeling terrible about them. Why did so many innocent people had to die when there are an awful lot of sick, terrible people enjoying the rays of the sunshine? >_> Talk about unfair. I'm sorry to everyone who experienced this, best wishes. :(

Just checked the morning news, and would you believe THIS...
Dude! Now they get a volcano!? Are you freaking kidding me?

And they are still trying to avoid a nuclear explosion as well... Pretty much every natural disaster besides a hurricane and all over the course of a few days... I am struggling to wrap my head around this at this point... They NEED some good news now.

I can't believe that is happening. How is it even possible to have all this come together in one line of disaster after disaster... I'm glad they managed to evacuate the area around the volcano though. Let's just hope that the power plant will remain under control.
