Actually, something interesting:

While it is still likely that Obama will win, I just checked and saw that California has been counted in in the current estimates. Even with the Cali 55, Obama has 258 electoral votes. He needs 270 to win...

You know, I think we're looking at a House determined vote for President, and knowing the house - Romney. But at the same time, the senate chooses the VP - and the senate is democratic.

So there is still a chance of a Romney-Biden presidential office four the next four years. That might prove interesting.
It's technically based on projections at this point and not the 100% final tallies, but Obama has won for all practical purposes. How do you figure we're headed for a tie, which is what would have to happen for the House to get involved?
Come death. Come suffering. I will not live in fear. In this fleeting life where time escapes us, the path of least resistance is a slow quiet death. I'd rather burn out than fade away.

The whole "You need 270 electoral votes to win".

Although I admit, Obama only needs another 5, so yeah, he's the winner.

If I may ask, why is it so many people are overwhelming thankful Obama won? What specifically of his policies do you agree with the most? I'm honestly curious.

I just don't like Romney. And I also think Obama did a great job taking over after Bush last time. So yeah, it's just my opinion. Not that it matters, I'm Canadian x3

I've been watching that stats on TV. I really hope that the presidential race doesn't become a close one during the next few hours. But it looks like it's heading there, and I heard a few minutes ago that the director of the Romney campaign on CNN said that they aren't just yet ready to give up the race to Obama.

Another interesting thought crossed my mind, and one that I would like Woeler to address. Not in a debate, but as a straight up answer:

Woeler is very proud how in his Netherlands, the elections are direct - your vote actually goes to determining who the winner is. Here in the U.S. we vote, but it goes to the electoral college - and election after election, the losing side always complains. Take this one for example: Under a "people's government", Romney would have won, because he has the popular vote. But at the same time, I know Woeler is one of the biggest Obama supporters in the world, so as soon as he will find out, he will be extremely grateful for the electoral college.

So Woeler: Do you like the electoral college, hate it (so that our elections will more closely match your own), or does your opinion sway with the winning presidential race (hate it during 2000, love it now)?

And not to exclude others, I find this question rather interesting to see people's opinions on: Do you guys like or hate the electoral college system we have. And I strongly encourage you to ignore the election results when stating your opinion.

I'm Canadian so my opinion will be shunned.. but why would you vote for EITHER ?
Obama wants to put a Muslim Church on GROUND ZERO!!
Romney wants to break up gay couples, take away their rights, and their children.

What I told my sister when it was still a close race: Either way, we're voting in an idiot. The only good politicians don't start their career in politics, something both Romney and Obama fail.
