The smoking thread

I've never tried it, and I don't want to. My parents both smoke. I'll probably end up dying from lung cancer from breathing the junk in, god. But yeah, people can do what they want, i don't really care.

Having the crap scared out of you by the medical establishment probably helps, too  Those nasty commercials of people squeezing plaque out of arteries sure makes me very glad I quit, haha.[/quote]

^ That was probably 80% why she quit. But thanks for that reply, I love reading long detailed posts. I suppose your right about addiction and stuff, it does come down to the person in the end.

My mom does, it's horrible :/ I think I'm having some sort of allergic reaction to it, because a lot of the time I go around it my nose starts itching really bad. I would never dream of trying it, but I won't judge people just for smoking.

I must be one of the few people who really don't care ...

I haven't known any different then my parents smoking for as long as I can remember, so me, my brother and sister grew up with it.
Luckely for the 3 of us, we don't smoke ourselves.
And my sister is pretty nasty about it too, whenever my mom smokes my sister will give my mom remarks.

2 of my ex-boyfriends smoked, didn't care about that eather, if they wanna mess up their insides, by all means, do so :)

I did try it once though, when I was like 7 or so, my brother and my nephew dared me, and I won :P haha
Never touched one again.

I do agree on not smoking inside public places.
When I'm outside (like at Disneyland, hehe) I really don't care, I would ask however to use the trashcans to throw the bits in, and not just dump them on the floor -_-

I don't smoke, and never intend to. It's an awful habit, and, I feel sorry for the family members of the ones who have to live with watching their loved ones slowly, potentially killing themselves. What I do not get, and never will do, is, why the hell do people start smoking in the first place, knowing the risks involved... I mean it's like going out deliberately to start doing damage to your body, just, I guess to 'fit in with your friends' it's sad to be honest, I would never go as far as damaging my body, to follow the crowd =/ Don't get me wrong this is just my personal opinion, I know plenty of smokers and have nothing against them, it's just something I don't really agree on.

I didn't want to post in this, but I guess I will.

Most of my friends smoke, cigarettes and illegal substances. But, if they want to, they can go ahead. It's not my choice, its theirs. I can't just tell them not to because I don't like it. They made their choice to destroy themselves, that's their choice. I made my choice to stay away from it, that's my choice.

Though, they do respect my choice by telling me when they are going to, so I don't have to be around them when they do so. I also respect their choice to give them privacy, if they want some. I've asked them not to invite me places if that is their intention, they respect me.

So in all honesty, I really dont care because its not my choice.
