Sounds more like classic than country, IMHO. So pretty and flowy ~ Underrated, too, only 70,000 views on YouTube. Shame.

Why the hell does everyone dislike hip-hop and rap? not all rappers are the same..

There are not many genres I dislike. But I really dont see why everybody loves Dubstep so much. I don't hate that kind of music but I don't understand why it's so popular. Also I don't really like those metal genres (like explained a few posts earlier) where they just scream and stuff. I don't really like that.
And that's it actually.

OMFG lots of arguements well.
well azdgari You pretty much just described bands like Dragonforce and the black death and some core metal bands ;).
there is A LOT of slow and heavy metal out there for example look at the black album by metallica regarded as one of the most popular heavy metal albums of all times and almost all the songs are slow and really simple not anything really technical there.
you know i hate bands like dragonforce to were it is all about speed and being techinical so yeah i guess i have to agree just not all metal bands are like that actually the majority is not like that.

Flipmode: (Umm yer sorry i know i have to make sure that i use dots and capitals :chuckle:)

first point-Yes metallica and iron are popular but how many people that you know actually love these bands. How many times do you hear them on the popular radio stations or hear about the on the news yes never. And these are probably the 2 only Really popular bands i mean even a bands as megadeth almost never plays in arena's.

second point-Yer i did describe the pop genre but also why i hate it cause there is no passion involved and it's not about the music. It's about being popular to kids being good looking,And about being on tv shows and being Family friendly not having rebellios lyrics in their music cause people are scared kids might actually get different opinions then their parents.

third point-Allright meaby i went a little bit over the top there but you get my point the beats Are really similiar to eachother. A loud bass drum a very sharp snare(all computer of course) and some weird synthesiser noises over it.

fourth point-Yes there are rock bands who do that bands like nickleback for example and guess what i don't like them to ;). And yes of course songs have strucures i get that but everyone song uses the same thing in the whole song try to look at one by metallica look ad the differences between the parts ;).

fifth point-yes i would like to get a lot of money but there is a different of way and you don't have to sell out (metallica-guns n roses-iron maiden bands like that are pretty rich i think and they never sold out). And yes there are bands that don't want to be on the radio believe me ;).

sixth point-And yes a lot of them can actually sing yes they can but not really unique or different from the others it all sounds the same + the only thing they have to do is write lyrics it's just way easier look at rock band they have to write guitar lines-drum lines-bass lines-and the lyrics and even solo's sometimes takes way more talent. Oh and btw having to use autotune to make the voice fit in with the music doesn't that pretty much prove it sucks.

seventh point-yes there are pop and rap artists who write about important personal stuff and music that is written with passion of course.
Look and the old eminem he had passion for music back then. But they never are popular and i'm talking about the popular hip hop and pop music that you are forced to listen to everywhere you walk.

final point-Well yes okay that is your oppinion it's okay but please don't tell me the music moves you cuz it doesn't it can be like wow this bass is awesome and my whole room shakes but it can't move you and make you think about stuff.

oh btw yes i do respect guys like Micheal Jackson i do not like the music but guys like that are unique write their own songs and have talent and passion for music ;)

You're just generalizing to death, jelle. I think I agree with what you're saying about pop being mass produced and the actual pop 'artists' (read: singers) getting way too much credit. But you also keep saying other things that I don't agree with. x3

Any real hip hop group has an MC who writes the lyrics and a DJ who creates the beats. Listen to any real DJ's work, like Danger Mouse or Sabzi, and you'll know that these people have incredible talent and an ear for mashing things together to create catchy beats that perfectly compliment their MC's lyrics.

I'm with you about people who -do- only write their lyrics, though. Many pop artists really should give their studios a whole lot more credit. It's very frustrating.
And yes of course songs have strucures i get that but everyone song uses the same thing in the whole song try to look at one by metallica look ad the differences between the parts
Indeed, there are very common pop chord progressions that almost all pop songs adhere to. It's a fact of music. There are also very common chord progressions/ideas that all metallica/iron maiden/guns n roses songs fit into. I mean, find me a song by any of them that's not based off entirely off power chords and the minor pentatonic. xD

I don't see how someone could flat out hate country, there are some classic things in that Genre. Lynard Skynard, Willie Nelson, even Buddy Holly, was a little bit country, and he was the king of rock!

Also, just because something is pop, doesn't mean it's bad. Pop only stands for Popular. Technically, that'd make anyone who is in the mainstream a pop artist, regardless of what musical Genre they play. Metallica is technically a Pop band, because they're popular.

As Azdgari said, a lot of rap artists actually DO write their own music, so I don't understand the argument there, there's no reason to base the whole Genre based off of a few people. Gnarles Barkley - St. Elsewhere is one of my all time favorite albums, and they're rap/R&B. But if you really listen to that album, it's got a really distinct sound (lol, I had to cause Az mentioned Danger Mouse. :P)
Saying you hate a genre seems almost sort of ignorant to me. Almost nobody dislikes all music within any genre. There is excellent and awful music in every genre, and it's just a matter of exposing yourself to the good versus the bad.
lovelovelove this.

Hating on entire genres just doesn't fly for me. It did when I was younger, but then I realized that it's a whole lot better to take songs one at a time and give all of 'em a chance rather than hating it automatically due to it being a rap song, or something like that.

I have to listen to a wide array of music for my writing jobs and such, and I tend to find something I like in just about anything. I do, however, have a bit of an issue with... I guess it's more of something one DOES in a song rather than the entire genre itself. I'm not really a fan of screamed vocals. I like being able to understand what a singer is saying to me... and in my opinion (feel free to disagree), if I or many others can't even understand you without looking up the lyrics of your song, why should I care about what you have to say? Using lyric in music generally means you want to get some sort of point across, tell a story, etc., and if no one can readily understand what the message is, that seems sorta counterproductive.

So as a result, I don't listen to a lot of metalcore, hardcore... that sort of thing. I'm not adverse to all screaming and sometimes I think it's done well, but a lot of times it seems like bands that play that music decide to scream just because their peers do, instead of doing it because it truly adds something to the music.

I'm pretty cool with whatever else. For me it's often more about lyrical content than the sound itself. I could love a beautifully-arranged orchestral rock song and I could love a bare-bones hip hop song with nothing more than a drum beat. It just varies from song to song, and I enjoy living like that when it comes to music. If I were to hate on rap as a whole because I heard a few songs in the genre I disliked (and believe me, there's been quite a few!), I'd miss some of the gems the genre has to offer, and that would just be unfortunate.

Country is HIGH up there. Even the classics like Hank Williams Sr. or Willie. Can't stand it
REAL hardcore metal. Don't mind the early stuff like some Black Sabbath (love crazy train) but death metal...no.
Rap. There are some I like (The Message is one) but for the most part...no.
