Your prediction on the future of the human race

Progress isn't pointless. At least until a certain point. Will we ever find a cure for cancer? Sure. Will we ever fix global warming? Probably. Will we develop the technology to travle through space? Absolutely. Those are all environmental factors. Now lets take a look at the social(human) factors. Will there ever be a world where everybody accepts each other for who he is? (Religion, Sexual orientation, Race, History, Political views) No. Will we ever achieve a peaceful world while our governments are going to war only for the resources and money? No. Will we ever be able to just remove country borders and it would not make a difference? No.

Because we simply can not tolerate difference. We posses the power to change a lot. Technology, the environment, our standards of living. There is one thing we have no influence on and that is our nature, Instincts and evolutionary basis. We are able to change everything around us except ourselves. The simple fact that we are bound to being human (which has its limits) prevents us from achieving a perfect world. We can protect ourselves against anything eventually, except ourselves. Simple Human greed is unbanishable from this planet and will always be a problem.

This topic is about the future of the human race, and it isn't too bright with Israel and Iran being on the edge fo war, middle-eastern countries completely destroyed, resources running out and an economic crisis.

I mean, how in the lords name are we improving? We are still fighting wars, supporting unequality and taking the lives of innocents. The only thing we are improving on is technology. As far as freedom and human rights go, we're not improving on them.

Gays are getting rights around the world, women are getting stronger rights in Catholocism and Islam, countries are overthrowing oppression in the middle east, Iran and Israel are still screwed up but it's not like that's anything new. Malaria's been almost eliminated in the last fifty years thanks to Mr. Gates donating his entire personal fortune, more aid then ever before in history is feeding the hungry and building schools / infrastructure in third world countries largely due to volunteering through organizations like peace corp but also largely through charitable aid from other countries (USA leads the world). Racism and religious persecution among non-radicals has been continually diminishing in the world over the last fifty years (outside the middle east). Geneva convention represented a quantum leap forward in the defense of basic human rights and has all but eradicated use of torture by non middle eastern countries (USA had a tough streak there but thankfully GITMO is closed and over with).

So clearly we're no better off than the dark ages.

Do not talk about how great the US is, if we were so great we would take care of ourselves first. While we are busy sticking our noses where they don't belong our country is falling apart around us.
I don't mean to sound so negative, but as we progress more and more with technology, we are making it so we can surivive by ourselves less and less.

Rape, murder, torture, skulduggery, bestiality, cruelties to make you shiver in your dreams. Children all over the world dying of hunger. Women going to bed fearing the man they live with. There are people waking up on the other side of the world to a day of misery, hell, and godforsaken hatreds. Animals are being killed in gambled fights for money and entertainment. Men are laying in prisonbeds not knowing what will happen to them the next day when they walk out of their cells. Pimps are prowling the cities bus station looking for that young female runaway to help; to help himself. Drunks are causing car accidents ripping the lives and limbs from innocents. Drunks are beating their kids and wives for nothing. People stealing from the aged and the helpless and getting away with it. Animals of human nature that are hunting their next victim to rape and kill. Old people are being thrown away as siblings fight over the inheritence before their parents even die. Judges putting innocents into jail while they know damn well that they are wrong. And judges now crying over the horrible mistakes they have made. Religion warfare terrorizes the populations with intimidation and shariah law. Puppies are milled for the money and the dogs who gave birth to them have never in the last seven years known a kind touch, or more room than the four by four wire cage they've lived in all their lives. Tribal warfare in third world countries are ripping the blood out of their enemies and the world looks the other way while in South America thousands work in horror for drug cartels that do and will murder them if they don't work hard enough. Hundreds of thousands are in a state of drug induced euphoria or in a state of fear from the withdrawal of drugs. Thieves robbing hard working women and men with guns, knives and club just to get money for themselves. Gangs are claiming streets they don't even deserve while mothers cry over their dead children. Drunkards are hopelessly slamming on the brakes and some one else is going to suffer for their stupidity. Pyromaniacs starting fires, destroying the homes of innocents with their belongings and family members still in them. A bull moose is being ripped apart by a pack of wolves somewhere in the north countries and no one hears the cries of agony. A man is screaming the same agony right now in some godforsaken torture chamber the world doesn't know about. Women and men working themselves to death in Africa and Asia, and we are all ok with it as long as we profit from it. The homeless are bedding down to another night of fear and shivering and the dry and warm places are just too dangerous to go to. Tornadoes and Earthquakes in third world countries destroying the homes and crops of the people living there. Genocide in the name of good will while it is actually about the profit and votes that will be gained with it. Terrorists planning another attack because neither party is willing to accept each other and talk. Millions have died and are still dying just because they are nothing more than pawns in a powergame that has been going on for thousands of years.

Have I said that our planet didn't improve? I don't refuse all you say. What I do refuse is this rainbows and unicorns idea, that life is somehow sunshine and that humanity is nothing but lovely.

Killing, power and greed are in our genes, and therefore, our world will always know those. What are you tryin to say? that we are living in a great world? a 1000 years ago was horrible, now it has improved, but it is still horrible.

Why is it that difficult to see that the only real enemy we face is ourselves? And since we can't kill ourselves to help ourselves, there is nothing more we can do than improve technology, cure diseases and hope for the best. We can not control our inner nature and greed, its simply impossible.
