I think the originals were amazing, they were almost as important as TLK to me as a child. But we lost the tapes/it went off air and so I dedicated my childhood to TLK
The original styles of the ponies were so beautiful, they looked like shy women with curvy hips and luscious hair, whereas now... I don't even think they look like ponies 0_0
