^I played the first and then... By the time the 2nd one came out I was not really playing games as much and ended up missing it. The thing with the first one that got me is the repetitive missions but I hear they fixed that for the sequels.
I know I may be behind on the plot, but I might just play through AC2 if anything before AC3 comes out. The plot is only half the game for me anyway lol, and if its set in the Revolution then I should know roughly what is going on.

I might be getting this game for free, because of some promotion that my GPU I just bought is going through. While the one I specifically bought didn't mention AC III, I will know if I will get the free code or not when the box comes.

Although to be honest, even if I won't get it, I don't really care that much.

Lol am I the only one who buys these games for the multiplayer?

^probably :P

Saying that; I have been playing AC2 in prep for 3 but I am finding it a bit slow to start. I think it's because I have only been able to play it in short bursts but if I sit down over this weekend and really slog through a decent chunk of it I will find it a lot more enjoyable. Well we will see; it has potential though so far.

I will definitely be getting AC III at some point. I'm not sure when, but I've got all the other main console AC games so far, and though I haven't gotten around to finishing Revelations, I've beaten the others, so I theoretically won't be lost if I start III before I finish Revelations.

If you want to understand the backstory (aka Desmond and tha future!) for AC III then you are going to need to play Brotherhood and Revelations as well... :P You don't necessarily need to though... I'm sure they'll make it easy to follow for people who haven't played the previous games.

I've played all the games from AC1 to Revelations and I am excited to see how Desmond's story ends.
