With me, I currently don't use a smartphone or iPhone like I am seeing many people nowadays using.
What do I use?
Good old-fashioned flip phones and I don't use Facebook or any social media, because I'd like to keep my social/personal life off the edge. I don't text, but I do use a good deal of data to view weather info fast most of the time, and sometimes to view MLK. Calls are here and there for me. But this kind of phone satisfies my personal needs. I use to own an old Blackberry phone a few years ago. But that's just about it.
My immediate family all have iPhones. I think they're okay for the most part because like DGF said, smartphones are useful. But the more technology advances, the more people will become dependent on it. They say technology is supposed to make our lives easier. But what about when it begins to become too much? (Which I fully believe is a major future possibility). I heard on TV that the best way to counteract this developing issue, is to just shutoff the service. But of course, realistically, I don't think that'd happen with peace.
Nowadays, I see younger people using their phones almost constantly! Most likely, text messaging their friends and such. But back in 2000, I remember seeing most people using their phones to do what they were made to do in the first place, and that would be, Call.

!?
Almost 6 years of consistent driving, that's gotta be extremely dangerous.
