Music Genres you dislike

I despise hip hop, country, rap, and heavy/death metal (the screaming and head-banging crap). Of course, there are a few songs in these genres that I love, but those are the very rare exceptions.
maybe instrumental music, but not so much.
I disagree, instrumental music can be so powerful that it doesn't need lyrics. It's just easy to tell/interpret what is going on or find great symbolisms and most are just amazing to listen it.

Wow, I didn't mean to get that deep lol o.o

Lol.. Mostly I like many songs by the voices of their singers, so I do not like usually instrumental, listen to music without voices just makes me boring.

By "instrumental" you mean like, orchestrated? If so then yeah I like instrumental too, sometimes. Most of the pieces I like are OST for various films or games, but there are also some good pieces asides from there. I mean, Beethoven has got to be one of the most famous musical artists of our time, for instance.

BEST TOPIC EVER KOPS
oh btw people who say they hate heavy metal please metal isn't all about screaming(metallica, iron maiden, black sabbath MANY BANDS) only all the death-black-core and subgenres of these use screaming and really loud guitar and nu metal and thrash metal do sometimes ;).

as for me i CAN'T STAND POP and all popular music.
I mean really in these days all music seems to be about is being catchy and it has to be trendy and the artists has to be either hot or cute or very weird music that is written with real passion and with talent just isn't popular these days any more.
all the popular music is the same beat in every song or IF there is guitar just 3 chords OVER AND OVER AGAIN on EVERY SONG.
no creativity no passion for the music it's all about the money and getting radio plays. Ugh and then a lot of artist are so talentless they have to use computers and autotune to make their songs sound good(to them) and just to let you guys know A LOT OF THESE PEOPLE DON'T WRITE THEIR OWN MUSIC yer they don't so how can there be soul and passion in it when they have not written it themselves?.

and no i'm not saying only metal has passion look at things like blues good jazz hell even some country they put hearth into their music and you can hear it and that makes real music the music that moves you that will make you feel something not some random weird noise over a computerized bass and a weird voice which is autotuned talking about having sex drinking partying cars girls hookers

other gernes is can't stand are all dubstep dj music and techo type of music i mean come on someone can explain me what is beautiful or nice about this music yes nothing beats and random weird noises over it.

hope i haven't pissed anoyone off with this rant feel free to argue

Oh... Also I dislike classic music lol, and by ''Intrumental'' I meant music without voices, as I said before, most of my taste in music is based on the voices of the singers.

perhaps they're many good ones, but I dislike them.

Exactly. Also, without instrumentals, movies and songs would be nothing. Imagine watching TLK or your favourite artists without music... Just... not the same.

And classic music? Dude, classic music is amazing. You're possibly just not old enough to appreciate it. :3

Also, completely agreed with jelle.

I would not say you pissed me off, but well, lets get this over with then.

It is not even just the screaming / harshing, I like Abandon All Ships, and their lead singer is one RAWWWWWW type of singer. It is just generally most metal is just not my cup of tea, I do like synth-metal though, sometimes.
as for me i CAN'T STAND POP and all popular music.
Oh really? I would say Metallica and Iron Maiden are pretty darn popular as music goes.
I mean really in these days all music seems to be about is being catchy and it has to be trendy and the artists has to be either hot or cute or very weird music that is written with real passion and with talent just isn't popular these days any more.
I do not see what the problem is? All you did was just describe the pop genre, and not why you hate it.
all the popular music is the same beat in every song
That is just downright not true.
or IF there is guitar just 3 chords OVER AND OVER AGAIN on EVERY SONG
.
Pretty sure I have heard a few metal bands, or at least rock bands doing that. It is just repetition, which is a thing that can be used in writing music. Try and write a good song that does not follow some kind of set structure, it will sound pretty bad and have no real sense of flow to it.
no creativity no passion for the music it's all about the money and getting radio plays.
I don't know about you, but I would quite like to have a lot of money, and wouldn't pretty much every artist rather be on the radio than not?
Ugh and then a lot of artist are so talentless they have to use computers and autotune to make their songs sound good(to them) and just to let you guys know A LOT OF THESE PEOPLE DON'T WRITE THEIR OWN MUSIC yer they don't so how can there be soul and passion in it when they have not written it themselves?
.
Auto-tune, if you have ever tried it, does not make you an instantly amazing singer. You still have to be able to sing to use it correctly in a song. I will agree with you about them not writing their own music though! (Brittany Spears apparently did not write a SINGLE SONG on Femme Fatalle!) I still would argue they have talent though, and that is quite important.

Back on the subject of auto tune, most artists who use it can in fact sing quite well without it (Justin Bieber for instance) but it is used to fit in with the electronic sound of the song.

First of, allow me to congratulate you on writing the longest sentence, with no punctuation, ever!
Secondly, I have been over this before, but not all rap / hip hop is about that stuff. And pop certainly is not. TRY a hip-hop artist like Bliss N Eso, who sing about important things, write their own songs (contrary to your belief some hip-hop artists DO write their own stuff).

Take an artist like Owl City, or newbie Summertimes End, you are saying they have no passion? Yet their songs heavily feature religion, and past experiences.

And finally, they do use real instruments, and a synthesiser is an instrument. The songs are not made entirely by the computer. Gawd, if you are going to hate something at least do a bit of research on the matter before you make a decision. It will make you seem uninformed and a blind fanboy otherwise.
other gernes is can't stand are all dubstep dj music and techo type of music i mean come on someone can explain me what is beautiful or nice about this music yes nothing beats and random weird noises over it.
I will tell you what is nice, about it... It is fun, and sounds good when it is being played through decent speakers and subs. Most dubstep artists have vocalists anyway, as do techo... Sorry I mean techno artists.

I will say that old school pop, was a lot more funkier than modern pop though... It is all about the Michael Jackson Owwwww he-he etc.
Actually that is a point, Micheal Jackson was a pop artist, and come on, he was pretty talented!

^ That post is actually pretty true, I really despise the Hip-Hop and Pop I've actually listened to, though. I've literally never heard any song from those genres I liked... just not my thing.
