Out of all the Pixar movies, my absolute favorite is A Bug's Life. The reason being is because I grew with this movie so much and I always remembered having my VHS tape and rewinding all the funny parts repeatedly. It was also the one I watched the most. My brother used to think that I had an obsession with it, but I didn't.

Also, I find it the darkest out of all the movies. For one thing, there are strong themes explored and clearly noticed in the film, which one of them is slavery. The ants are servents to the grasshoppers and forced to keep supplying them with food or else they face the consequences from them, which the ants fear and are pacifists. Besides Scar and Zira, Hopper is one of my all time favorite Disney villains because he truly displays an evil mind and cruelty. Later in the movie after Filk yells his speech out to Hopper about how ants aren't supposed to serve their enemies and are stronger together as one, Hopper brutally beats up Filk again and the ant colony creates a powerful rival against the grasshoppers. In my opinion, this part does show how dark the film is and I love how it shows that standing up to your fears can become a powerful thing. Pixar really took the cautions into creating the roles of ants .vs. grasshoppers so brutely. Lastly, it teaches us a lesson about how abusive the real world can be and we need to notice issues like these so our societies are better in the future. That's probably why I love the movie much more than I did years ago.
