Norway Attacks

I live in Oslo, though in the suburbs, so I actually didn`t hear the blast. The whole thing is pretty surreal, and I have a friend who sustained some cuts and needed 6 stitches. My concerns go out to the ones involved with this atrocious event.

I still find it hard to believe... How could someone do something like that? Killing young innocent people... That man is sick.

I'm so sad about this. ^You're right Nadra; That man is sick^. I mean, why would someone kill people because it's against something? I'm against a lot of things from this world, some times I hate it and want to get out of it and never ever come back, but I won't go outside with a gun and kill every person that steps in front of me. Some of them might have made me suffer a lot, but I have to keep in mind that there are innocent people and that for God's eyes and for my heart they are my siblings and I can't hurt them. I must love them so we can unite and live together in peace and harmony in a better place. If every human being analizes, accepts and applies these simple words, Earth can be the happiest place on the universe; Love, Peace, Unity, Compasion and God.

I heard about this on the news. Just terrible. My thoughts and prayers go out to those people. You know they're now calling the victims Heros. Every victim of a terrorist attack is a Hero in my book.

I still can't believe this actually happened... It seems so unreal! I always felt safe in that country... More safe than I feel here in Canada, to be honest...
Anyways, there's nothing more we can do... We went to the memorial service, which was good for us because my cousin's friend was confirmed dead by then, and I also found out my former classmate had also died. Although he was not shot, he drowned trying to swim away from the island... It's just so tragic...

I'm not sad anymore, but it's still upsetting... I just can't believe it.

They better have the death penalty in Norway. An attack of this magnitude borders genocide.
Gone for good.

I don't think they have the death penalty in Norway, actually... I mean, it's normally such a peaceful country. And who knows? Maybe they'll let him out thinking he has a "mental dysfunction"

Let him out because of a mental dysfunction? That's really irresponsible... They gotta send him to a psychologist if he has a mental dysfuction lol.

Hardly any countries still have the death penalty, but IMO spending the rest of your life in jail (which will happen) is a fate worse than death anyway. I would consider the death penalty an injustice in most cases.
And btw, you still go to jail even if you do have a mental dysfunction, you just stay in a specific wing of the prison, where they are trained and have resources to help deal with it. Least that is how it is in UK and USA laws.
The only exception is in the case of an insanity plea, and even then you can look forward to spending your life in a psychiatric hospital.

But again, this guy was a fairly wealthy business man, he started successful companies to finance the attacks (which he was planning since 2002), and then carried out these attacks with such care, planning and precision... That will overrule pretty much any plea of insanity or even diminished responsibly. Dude is going to jail, for life IMO. He is already in confinement, awaiting further action and the court is against the insanity plea the lawyer is trying to set.
