Toy Story 3 Vs. HTTYD

I would pick TS3 any day. Not to insult HTTYD but honestly... it seemed like a tear-jerker to me. For those of you who don't know what that term means, it basically refers to something that operates mainly by trying to bring out intense sorrowful emotions and, in a lot of cases, include quick transitions from sad to happy and vice-versa. Filmmakers know that audiences will often come back for more if they associate the film with strong emotions, and especially a variety of those.
HTTYD was a tearjerker? TS3 had a 20 minute long ending after the story resolved itself for purely tearjerking purposes. =P
Yes but in watching HTTYD with some friends I kinda noticed it had tearjerking throughout the entire film. Or it could just me me :P

I was kind of hoping Tangled would get nominated.. =( I haven't seen TS3 yet but I have a feeling it'll end up winning, HTTYD was a sweet film but I don't think it's quite good enough. But who knows,I might be wrong. I usually am =P

Well as you probably already knew, Toy Story 3 won the Oscar.

I have mixed feelings. :hmm2: TS3 was good, but HTTYD was pretty much the best film Dreamworks has made. Plus Pixar has won the previous 3 years. It's like an A+ student winning the science fair every year and then the next year, a C+ students turns in a A project, but loses again to the A+ student. I'm resisting the urge to type "It's the circle of life..."

Yeah, I strongly suspect that TS3 won because it's from Pixar.
You won't believe how much politics have to do with the outcome of the Oscars.

I'd say that HTTYD wins just barely, but I love both films.

Both get around a 9.5/10 on my rating scale.

Yeah, I stopped caring that much about them when United 93 didn't get nominated for best picture.

I like Toy Story 3 a lot better. I've always liked the Toy Story movies. HTTYD was just different than I expected, and I didn't like it as much as I thought I would.
