In your opinion, what is the best album of 2012?

Tell me what you think is the best album to be released, out of what you've heard, of the year 2012. Please give your reasons behind why you enjoy the album so much, and if you can, give some specific songs that you enjoy the most from it.

I personally think that the most powerful album to be released this year to me, was one that slipped into the sidelines at the last second. And that album is

His voice is just so simplistic and natural, and although the album never has a really technical sound to it, I think that's part of the point he was trying to bring with it. I think he's trying to display that you should live your life simply the way you want to and that no one should get in the way of that. Every song on the album just has lyrics that make you want to just let go of all your problems and dance along with it. Bugg, for a new artist, has done with this one album what not many artists can do even with decades of experience. Make a truly emotional, and solidly thought provoking album. In the 40 minutes this album lasts, Bugg takes you on a journey through your own mind that you'll never soon forget.

My favorite songs on the album: Lightning Bolt, Two Fingers, Taste It, Simple As This, Somebody Told Me, and pretty much every song on the album.

Centipede Hz by Animal Collective.

It may be an obvious one for me to pick, as anyone who knows me even slightly well will probably know Animal Collective is my favorite band.
I just really love this album and have yet to get tired of it. A lot of people weren't too into it because they had higher expectations after Animal Collective's extremely popular 2009 album Merriweather Post Pavilion, but I feel like Centipede Hz was more reminiscent of their pre-Merriweather music of which I am so fond.
Additionally, the album has a lot of sentimental meaning to me. I saw the first show of the band's tour for Centipede Hz, and it was my first time seeing them live, which I'd been dreaming of for a long while. It has since become one of my favorite memories. My best friend, my significant other, and a mutual pal of ours met up with 5 other acquaintances (plus one very good friend up in the balcony) and stood right up front. Then after the show I had my newly-purchased copy of the album signed by every member, as well as the artist who created the cover art. It was heavenly.

As for my favorite songs:
Moonjock: just a really rad song. I love it. Particularly the ending. I have a strong memory of Animal Collective playing Moonjock live - looking over my shoulder to my left, during the ending of the song, and watching a normally quiet and solitary acquaintance of mine clutching his hands to his chest and jumping up and down frantically with the speed of the music, his eyes shut and his teeth bared in an expression of pure passion.
Wide Eyed: the first song on an AC album that the guitarist Deakin has ever sung. My favorite on the album. Absolutely beautiful.
Pulleys: reminds me a lot of AC's older music, beautiful and hypnotic.
Amanita: a really strong closer, powerful message, otherwordly in a way
