So about 4 weeks ago, I recently got into the show and I came to actually love it. At the moment, I'm kinda obsessed with the show and I'll give a plot synopsis.
The series centers on the Smith family, a dysfunctional family consisting of Stan and Francine as the parents, their teenage kids Steve and Hayley, the family's pet fish, Klaus, and an alien name Roger. Stan is a CIA officer who does take his job seriously but can go overboard sometimes when it comes to his patriotism. He also cares for his family. Francine is a pretty normal housewife with a sweet personality but often wants to do more in life. Steve is a high school student who tries to become more outgoing with "the cool kids" than besides hanging out with his nerdy friends and is struggling to go through puberty. Hayley is a community college student who is studying women's history. Stan rescued Roger from government capture and harbors in the attic. Klaus's brain was put into a fish's body, so that's why he can talk to people.
I was so surprised to actually end up liking this show. Since both American Dad and Family Guy were created by Seth MacFarlane, it's funny how people are often comparing them. Personally, I like American Dad a lot better than Family Guy because I find the main characters more tolerable for a family than the Griffen family in Family Guy. Also, unlike FG, AD doesn't have those cutaway gags where random scenes would be there for a pop culture reference that has nothing to do with the story, which is nice to focus on an actual plot. I find the show more funnier and better too. Also, I hate when people are usually over exaggerating about the fact that I love AD. I mean, come on. I love Disney, Dreamworks, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, and more, but let me have variety in what I like to watch. Besides, this is the only adult cartoon I watch.
So, if any of you guys know about the show, what are your thoughts on it? Do you like or dislike it? What do you like about it?
