So, I decided to watch this yesterday since I was bored and had nothing to do. I wasn't expecting much at all, since I didn't like the first movie all that much. The first movie was decent, the animation was nice, but not anything over-the-top in my opinion.
Anyways, about Kung Fu Panda 2. Wow. I was completely blown away. The animations were amazing, and the story as well. There were also many scenes that were breathtaking, and the movie as a whole was much more grand than the first. It still had it's comedic feel like the original, but there were also many more serious and emotional scenes. The villain, Shen, was also very well done, one of my favorite villains now. Aside from those, what really sold me in this movie was the score. When Po comes to realize who he is as he has the flashback of his previous experiences from the first movie as well as the second, not only was the animation of the scene breathtaking, but the score was incredible as well. It sounded almost if not just as epic and touching as the score when Simba climbed Pride Rock.
Maybe I'm overly hyped about this, but I think this is a perfect example of what sequels should be. It's one of the very few cases where the sequel is better than the original. What do you guys think?
