3D is at the end of the day, overrated by the simple fact that no one knows how to do it properly. Pay as much money to the conversion as you want, but we don't have the technology yet to do proper 3D. A proper 3D movie needs to be made natively in 3D, and needs to be watchable without glasses. I saw The Lion King in 3D. It was a good movie, but is better in 2D. I saw Avatar in 3D. It was a bad movie, and the 3D did little in the end.
As for Beauty and the Beast? Watch in in 2D. It was made for the flat screen, and is best watched on a flat screen. Just how the way it is.
A good movie can be made better if made in 3D. But that is not yet possible.
