She has a good sense of humor, and loves to laugh. Aimee will always be weary around men, but that doesn’t mean she’s not interested in them. She wants to love, and to be loved in return, it’s just the matter of finding someone who does.
She can get frightened quite easily, and whether she wants to show it or not is up to how scared she is. She hates feeling helpless too, which is a feeling she gets alot when Frollo takes her out and he scourns the gypies where ever he goes, giving Aimee a bad name.
Background: Aimee was born to an English father and a French mother, who were both accepted into the gypsie culture. She grew up reasonably well, alongside gypsie children. At first, she was picked on for having pale skin, due to the fact her mother and father were not from gypsie heritage. But when she found she could generally do things better then them, they learnt to accept her.
Her father taught her to read, and the skill has stayed with her throughout life. When she was 12, a raid on where her group of gypsies lived was carried out, and her father was killed. Her mother managed to get away with her, fleeing towards the center of Paris. The two were ok for a while, but her mother could not support the both of them and soon starved to death when Aimee was 14. For the entire year, the young girl had to make do on the streets, travelling here from there. She came across some bad people, cruel men who she had narrowly espaced from many times.
When she was nearer to Notre Dame, word got out that a niece of Judge Claude Frollo was living on the streets. When Frollo heard of this, he immediately searched for her, ashamed that a relative of him was a nothing more than a street girl. For his own sake only, he found her and explained to her he was a relative.
Aimee believed him, for her mother had mentioned him before, but was scared. She didn’t know anything about him, and he seemed creepy. However, Frollo gave her no choice and she soon found herself living in the luxury he lived in. This was frowned upon by the gypsies living around Notre Dame and considered her to be an upper class girl, and nothing more.
The young girl was not used to living in such sophistication, and was often shouted at and scourned by Frollo whenever she placed a toe out of line. She is scared he will physically hurt her one day, with the threats she recieves she often counter-argues that he is sinning. He just claims she is a devil child, and deserves to be treated as such. And that’s where we are now, as Aimee watches on as Frollo continues to hate the gyspies, and the gypsies continue to hate him, and her. And the fact the Frollo is beginning to get too close for comfort, and too scary at times as well for Aimee to handle.
However, during the whole thing, the one highlight has been meeting Quasimodo, the bell ringer. She was curious and asked Frollo one day if she could come to the bell tower with him. He agreed, just to show her and explain to her about the monster that he claimed Quasimodo was. Aimee finally met him, at first, she was shocked by his appearance, but behind that she saw a gentle soul who needed a friend.
She was angry at the way her uncle treated him, calling him a monster. Quasi even saw himself as one. She vowed to spend more time with him, and often offered to take food to him. Frollo agrees sometimes, when he is busier with other things. The two became friends, and throughout the time, has always thought that something about Quasi's past didn't add up.
