Hi, I'm really bad at starting introductions so I'll just ask my questions first.
1.) Why did the board activation email go to my spam folder?
2.) Why can't I upload my avatar?
And now I suppose I should say a bit about myself. In my default human form I'm a 26 year old female but I don't consider myself to have a gender. For simplicity I use female pronouns. I was in the prime age for the target audience of the original The Lion King movie. My younger cousin and I often used to role play as lion characters or just cat type characters in general. I liked the movie a lot when it first came out but my interest in it has fluctuated through the years. The first book I ever tried to write was inspired by The Lion King but it bore little resemblance in story line. Basically it was a story about lions though not in the Disney universe. I've seen all 3 of the current movies and used to watch the tv show about Timon and Pumba. It's only today that I learned that there were books about The Lion King and that a new show is supposed to come out next year.
About a month ago I was speaking to a friend of mine about obscure animal species such as pangolins and green sea slugs. Then I recalled the striped hyena species as an animal he had likely not heard of nor ever seen. I decided to do some research on striped hyenas vs spotted hyenas and found that I seem to have a bit in common with them. Unlike their spotted cousins the striped hyena rarely hunts live animals and instead prefers to eat carrion and fruit. It is more solitary and has a long mane on it's back. They do have a few things in common though such as the females being more dominant than the males. Unfortunately the striped hyena shares many of the stigmas of the spotted type. I, like the striped hyena, feel I am often misunderstood due to people's false assumptions about me too.
As far as how I feel about the characters of the actual The Lion King movies I always identified more with Scar. Though recently I learned of some strange scenes cut from the original movie that made their way into the Broadway musical. I'm speaking of course of the song "The Madness of King Scar" which I think totally ruins his character, or at least my previous perception of him.
