Oh, and a general question...i like to ask this in forums where I am new...but is there any informal RP or is that disallowed? (informal: *(insert an action here)* (insert speech here) )

Formal = Something considered normal
Informal = Something done in the opposite manner of formal. In the example he used, if someone's computer wasn't working, slamming your head into it is not the "formal" thing to do whereas the formal thing would be to logically think about what might be wrong and fix it.

And as for doing so in RPs.. well if the story calls for it, i'd probably do it lol. You should always act as your character would be (from what little I know of PRing), so if your character would respond in that kindof manner then yeah it's fine. But you might want to ask one of the more long term members, or a member of staff, as i'm still fairly new myself

Well, with the answers I've been given I'm going to assume that it doesn't go on, but maybe I should explain better.
An Informal RP isn't technically an RP, but I don't know what else to call it. It basically showing an action using (*) around it and then continueing with the conversation. I'll give an example that more relative to this forum.

person 1: Kovu is better than Simba
person 2: *gasps and throws a rock at you* no he's not!
bold= informal

where as formal would describe the action of picking up and throwing the rock and then put the speech in quotes....IFRP is basically used for general conversation... now, if you all don't mind... *finds a rock and hides under it* >.>
