It would be interesting if, in self-preservation, those deprived of water abandoned their homeland and trailed the clouds until the rain begins. At this point, they should be well within the territories of some other pride. War or conflict could either break out immediately or be threatened, if the foreigners don't leave immediately.

oooo, nice idea. I was going to suggest having the pride split apart and turn against each other because of fights breaking out over food and water, until I saw this.
