History: Kimba is born in the Pridelands to Kovu and Kiara as the next heir. Kovu is already King by that time so Kimba gets to enjoy cubhood with his best friends Zini and Nakaii. One day while the cubs are out exploring they reach the border between the Pridelands and the Sahara Desert. Zini and Nakaii start running back home, but Kimba being curious, presses on into the desert to explore. When Zini and Nakaii reach Pride Rock they realize Kimba is gone, but by the time they tell Kovu and he sends out Zazu and Zasa to look, Kimba is long gone and lost in the desert. After a few days they presume the worst and think Kimba is dead, and Zini is chosen as the new future king.
Meanwhile in the desert, Kimba is still alive, but barely. Eventually he passes out from exhaustion to be left to his fate. From the Great Kings and Queens of the past, the spirit of Nala looks down at her grandson as he lies passed out and she takes pity on him and comes down in the form of a gazelle named Tala. She carries him to a place where there is shade and feeds him. Over time Kimba grows into an adolescent lion and he finally wakes up from his coma. Tala introduces herself and he thanks her, then they both make their way back to the Pridelands.
Meanwhile, Zini and Nakaii had also grown into teens. Although Nakaii was still deeply in love with Kimba, she had accepted her fate to become Zini's queen and was expecting a cub with him. One night while they were sleeping, Kimba comes back. Kimba, seeing Zini and Nakaii together, grows jealous and growls. Nakaii wakes up and sees him, but thinking he was dead she thought he was a ghost and yelps in shock. Zini wakes up and soon they both start to fight. Kimba ends up winning and Zini runs away to hide in the Outlands. Nakaii and Kimba reunite and Kimba takes his rightful place as the next King of the Pridelands. Kimba never finds out about Nakaii and Zini's cub since Nakaii gives the cub to Zini to raise one night.
Position: First he is Prince, then he is King of the Pridelands.
