Personality: When you first meet Blyds, he is seen as a rough speaking, calm and collected, and scary king. But, Blyds doesn't mind being known as that so he doesn't have to be challenged as anything less than what he sees as a king. Blyds has a certain way of speaking that makes him seem very upfront and able to say what's on his mind. As well, he likes to keep his facial expressions calm and collected so he doesn't have to look irked when he actually is. Bottom line is, he likes to be someone he's not so he isn't seen as something weak and defenseless. Something he is very forward about is the fact that he hates males, and that is why he takes such careful looks at all the males who are in his pride and watch their every move.
When you get to know Blyds, he's a very noble, protective, wise, and caring lion. As cynical and sarcastic as he is, he still loves to make others in his pride and family smile and be happy. He's extremely romantic when the time calls for it, but he has never been in love before.
History: Blyds was born to a caring mother who was part of a pride where a single male, Uzoma, was the father to all the cubs in the pride. Blyds' mother, Enoa, always had a fear of leaving because she didn't want Blyds or his sister to be harmed by Uzoma and the pride. Although she knew eventually that Blyds would be kicked out of the pride, Enoa wanted to spend the rest of her days with her cubs so she got in touch secretly with a male not too far from her king's territory. One day when she was found out by the other lionesses, they reported back to Uzoma and he chased after Enoa, killing her. Luckily, before he got to the cubs, Blyds' grandparents, Hova and Enui, came and got them away so the cubs could live with Hova and Enui in their pride.
When Blyds was 2.5 years old, he set off from his grandparents and back to the Jelaniobi Pride to take it from his father. Though Uzoma had experience over his son, Blyds was stronger and more resilient and so he was able to chase Uzoma off. Uzoma was never seen again, and Blyds was the new king, keeping all the cubs around and taking control. That was when he met his first mate, Ebele.
Blyds knew Ebele when he was a cub, as she was much older than him and babysat the cubs while the other lionesses would hunt. Now that he was 2.5, and she was 4, he picked her as his mate out of comfort about being around her. She had never bared any cubs for Uzoma, and so Blyds tried to mate with her, but Ebele revealed she didn't want to have cubs with him as she didn't love him. Even though she didn't want a family with him, she wanted to be his friend and he obliged. A few weeks later, Ebele ran off with a rogue lion and was never seen again.
After Ebele, Jahia was the next mate of Blyds. She was the same age as Blyds and was very willing to be Blyds' mate. Blyds believed he could be in love with her if he gave her enough time, and he figured if he had cubs with her, he could learn to fall in love with her. Time after time, they tried but they were never able to conceive. And then finally, when they could, they were still borns. After the birth, Jahia blamed herself for the still born death and not being able to produce healthy heirs for Blyds, so she ran away and was never seen again.
Next mate of Blyds was a lioness named Sabra. Though she convinced everyone that she was a worthy mate of being the next queen, some of Blyds' lionesses told him that she was trying to rally up all the lionesses on her side so they could overthrow Blyds and she could be the queen. Once Blyds learned about this, he confronted Sabra and wanted to see if it was true. She denied it all, but the lionesses in the pride turned against her completely and Blyds threw her out of the pride. She was never seen since.
And then, there was Binta. She was sweet and kind, not a bad thought in mind and a pure soul, and was happy to be Blyds' queen. Even though Blyds was happy to have her by his side, he only liked her as a friend-- at most a sister. He felt it was unfair to her to keep her around when she was being lead to believe that he loved her. Finally, though he found it hard, he told her what he really felt and that he couldn't blame her if she wanted to leave. She did. And so, Blyds found another pride that was willing to take her in and care for her. He never saw her again.
