Name: Frost
Species: (African) Lion
Gender: Male
Age: Juvenile
Personality: Frost is not the kind of guy that's possible to get to know. He's not remotely social, and never talks about himself, issues that concern him, or much else at all. It's impossible to know what he's thinking about, much less how he's thinking about them. He can be cold, and has shown extremely violent tendencies on the few occasions his life has been in danger. He has, however, shown zero signs of aggression towards people and animals that don't threaten him--although he hasn't exactly shown much kindness towards anything, either.
He's uncomfortable with touching, being touched, or even being physically close with anyone, and he frequently simply vanishes for hours or even days without telling anyone--he always turns up, though, and he always comes when he's called and does as he's told.
Frost never shows real emotion, and when he introduces inflection into his voice or assumes facial expressions, it's very clear that he's doing so just to seem normal. He doesn't seem to regret the use of violence at all, but he's not the kind of person that can be easily provoked. He seems very reflective, and always seems to find a way to get things to work out for him when he has a specific goal in mind. He's not close to anyone, and there seem to be a great deal of things he's keeping secret, or that others keep secret about him. Getting him to say more than a few words about anything significant or non-abstract is a very difficult battle to fight, but he's not mean at all, and whenever anyone mentions to him that he's bad or mean, he vanishes for quite some time indeed.
Frost doesn't follow social norms at all. He sleeps, wakes, and takes meals when and where he pleases unless he's specifically told to do otherwise. His oddities are tolerated, though, as he always shows up when he's needed, and he's a very good fighter indeed. He seems to be rather intolerant and mistrusting of strangers and non-lions, but he doesn't talk enough for anyone can be sure of that.
Description: Frost is rather large and lithe, as he hasn't has time to pack either muscle or fat onto his frame. Still, he's quite strong, almost to the point where he could wrestle with the large adults of the pride if he tried to. The slight mane he has is pure, silky black, as are his eyebrows. In contrast, his fur is an ashy, grayish sort of pale tan. The fur around his eyes is rather dark, which makes him look like he's never slept properly. There do seem to be darkish stripes of fur on his sides, but these can only be seen in very rare lighting conditions--and they're probably just shadows anyway. His eyes themselves are very light gray with black pupils. He could be described as attractive, as he's got a very good physique and good bone structure--but his fur makes him look like a zombie more than anything living.
History: Frost was found as a young cub alone outside of pride territory. His parents were nowhere to be found, and he shouldn't have been old enough to have survived alone for more than a few hours--but all evidence suggests that he roughed it for about two weeks. He hadn't quite learned to speak properly when he was found, and claims to have no recollection of the events that put him where he was--but he did remember his name, somehow. Unfortunately for Frost, however, he was found on a day that celestial events suggested was extremely unlucky and dangerous. So, when he was found, he wasn't taken in immediately--everyone just left him alone until the next day, found him again, and then adopted him. A surrogate mother was appointed for him (she didn't want the job) but he was already used to eating meat, and seemed to have no desire or need for a parent figure of any kind. Since then, he's been working hard at becoming a better hunter, fighter, runner, and swimmer. He excels at all physical activities, but he's now approaching the age where young lions look at young lionesses in a different light without the slightest idea of how to interact with anyone for more than a few moments in passing.
Other: Frost tends to speak rather slowly, except for when he's excited about something (hunting or combat, for example)--then, he's extremely curt and abrupt. Although the pace of his speech is slow, he stutters sometimes, and often pauses at odd intervals, as if he's always thinking about what he's saying and how his words will be received.
