Appearance: He definitely gets his looks from Nuka's side of the family as he very closely resembles his grandfather, Taka (A.K.A Scar). He has dark tanned fur, with a flowing black mane that curled at the tips. Unlike his younger brother Kicha his mane is well kept by Akili's grooming efforts. He has a slender face shape, and devilish emerald eyes that could mesmerize a cobra. He has circles of lighter brown fur around his eyes. His build is very slender, not muscular but also not scrawny. In terms of size he is average lion size, being larger then his younger brother.

Personality: Intelligent, sarcastic, and manipulative. He is and always has been the brains of the family with the absence of his grandfather. He uses careful reasoning, logic and generally thinks twice before an action, unlike his brother who just runs into battle. At times he can be a bit crude towards others, but he can also be quite the sweet talker to appeal to the rogue lionesses that were not initially willing to share their food or watering holes. He's never had to really fight in all his time in the desert due to his ability to out wit and manipulate his victims into either doing his bidding or fleeing the area in fear or worry. Deep down he is very insecure and not quite as evil as his ancestor, Scar.

History: Akili was born the son to an unknown lioness, and Nuka. When he was born, Zira suggested he be named Taka due to his striking resemblance to his grandfather, but his mother wished to name him Akili after her own father whom she cared for very much. Akili was never the playful cub in the bunch, and always said the most disturbing things to the other cubs of the outlands. Akili only believed he was speaking the "truth" when he told the other cubs they would all rot and die eventually and be eaten by various creatures.

Zira was particularly fond of Akili due to his obvious inheritance of many of Taka's traits such as the way he spoke or the fact that he was too "smart" for fun. He understood how the world worked from a young age, and that just happened to please Zira. Too bad Zira would never get to see him grow into exactly what she'd hoped.

Akili had to hold his brother back from attacking the pridelanders when the other outlanders had turned on their old home, leader and lifestyle only for comfort. Akili too was disturbed by this betrayal but he figured if they attacked the pridelanders now, they would certainly die in vein like their grandmother. Instead Akili suggested they retreat into the desert where he would have time to improve his skills as a negotiator and devise a flawless plan to get rid of his enemies within the pridelands. Under many circumstances he used his smooth talking and manipulative aspects to get what he and his brother needed to survive. When that didn't work, he let Kicha have a little fun regardless of how many injuries his younger brother sustained.

Akili and his brother returned to the outlands when they were both adults. Akili was well equipped with the survival skills and his mastered talents of negotiation and manipulation.
