# PayPal Commissions?
August 20th, 2014, 5:21 pm
Sometime this year I'm thinking about opening PayPal commissions. I realized that I do have to get a degree in Meteorology in Collage in order to be able to research Tornadoes as a Storm Chaser. (Recently read the book called Chasing the Storm which told me this. It is a really interesting book.) Does anyone think this is a good idea? Would you pay Real money for my art? How much should my prices be? I'm all new to this. :phew: People would pay after I finish there commissions and it is to their liking, Even if I have to redo their drawing ten times for example. People are paying real money for my art, and I want them to get quality art. I have no clue when this year I'll open them, depends if people think this is a good idea.

Thanks! Glad people think so. I'll have to think of decent prices though.
I have myself money commissions open. Sad to say people don't even pass by much of lower artists nowdays (everyone prefers people who like... own a Cintq and do amazing art, ending up driving people away from others) on devART even, and I don't think there are many people here on MLKFAA who would be old enough with their own money and things to buy. I myself am suffering a bit because there are many things I need to pay off to help my parents with bills and crap, and nobody even buys my art. :l And some of my friends even say I underprice myself for my quality...

But all in all, they are worthy to open, you can try joining groups, do art, and all that jazz. I can also advise joining on facebook in groups. For animal artists... common groups is known as Furry Groups, but beware... Furry fandom is quite a screwed up place, but if you only draw animals... Furry fandom is the only place you'd most likely get someone to buy your art (since a Furry IS an Animal, anthro or feral).

I best really advise is for you to have the customer pay first, then you do the drawing, because there are times where the person can just lie, and never send you the money. There's nothing wrong with that, you're the artist, the service they're going to, in shops you too have to pay first then get your item, same thing is with art (as long as you do finish their drawing and send it to them).

I wish you best of luck on the commissions, they're really worth it if you have good people that love your art and would die to buy it. Which I sadly don't have much lol. Best of luck. :3
Wow! Thanks for all the really great advice. Sorry to hear that yours weren't selling that well. :( I'm thinking of doing what DJ88 does, she has people pay first, but she shows them the process of her commission and allows them to ask for changes if they are not satisfied. I could try FA, but I won't draw any Yiff, because I for one would not enjoy that. Some fetishes I might allow drawn, (Even if I hate all fetishes.) The only Fetish I really won't allow drawn is Vore, as I find Vore really disgusting.
