After Simba "died", Scar's reign and the hyenas had driven away the herds and the Pridelands had become inhabitable for most species. Survival for the lionesses was tough.
For the contest on TLKFAA, I drew Sarabi swimming. She's trying to be hopeful, that everything will turn out alright. She knows that without hope, they'll lose the will to survive. I think the water is graceful and thoughtful, a perfect scene for this.
I'm very proud of how I drew the anatomy of Sarabi. The paws are way better than usual. Helpful criticism still appreciated!
