Other Names: Sava cat, Two-hearted cat, greater sava Average Shoulder Height: between 50 inches and 64 inches / 4'2" and 5'4" Average Weight: 300 lbs to 410 lbs
Genders: Males are typically larger, but not by much (couple inches in height and ten or so pounds in weight). Both sexes carry dense half-manes, horns, and elongated canine teeth.
Diet: Omnivorous. Not a picky eater, ranges from large mammals to small reptiles, amphibians, birds, to fruit and nuts and plant matter. Hunting is usually a group matter.
Facts: Horns are thought to be aesthetic rather than practical, possibly a factor in mate-choosing. Nose is highly powerful. Eyes see in decent color; function better during dawn and dusk; savalings themselves are naturally crepuscular.
Internal: Though they share much of their make-up with lions and other large cats, savalings have a few drastic differences. The most striking is their second heart (realistically four hearts, two inputs and two outputs, eight total chambers). They also have massive livers and lungs. A small gland above their mouth, called the palenom gland, carries a special type of saliva that is often used when hunting - it stings and burns when in contact with organic matter aside from the mouth of the savaling it came from.
Mentality: Savalings are very intelligent. They share human reason, logic, and social desire. They use various tools and learn quickly. Have a high adaptability as well. They can be very aggressive, but also loyal to the death. They court and take mates based on both visual apperance and personality, much like humans. Raising offspring is taken up by both parents.
Lifestyle: Naturally social, savalings commonly form small prides in which to live in. Culture varies from group to group, depending on the beliefs and persona of the cats themselves. They are very family oriented.
