Zira saw the flames and then the body of Scar falling from the paw of Mufasa's son. She ran from the fray and towards where he fell. By the time she was able to reach him, the hyenas had fled, leaving behind the tattered carcass, but she didn't know. All she saw was the "prince" kill her king and her love and to her eyes, in the most horrific manner. She now vowed to destroy Simba, however possible, but for now, she had to bide her time, and wait.
