Character Description
Mikhulu's parents were rogues, and he used to travel with them and his baby sister, Xhomekeka. Unfortunately, not long after Xhomekeka was born, there was a drought where they were, and his parents began to fear Xhomekeka wouldn't survive. Mikhulu loved his sister so much, and the thought of her dying terrified him. He began to realize that if his parents didn't have to feed him, Xhomekeka would get more food and might have a better chance of surviving. So one night, without telling anyone, Mikhulu ran away from his family.
It had seemed a good idea at the time, but Mikhulu soon regretted leaving. Traveling by himself was much harder than he had expected it to be. He was constantly being hunted by predators, especially an eagle named Claws. Finding food for himself was rather difficult, since he knew very little about hunting, and there was hardly any prey in the deserts he was traveling through.
Eventually Mikhulu came to an oasis, and decided to live there, but soon found out that it was already the home of a pride lead by a lion named Jafiya. Mikhulu avoided the pride, especially the adult lions, as he feared he would be chased away if anyone found out about him. But he was lonely, and eventually tried to make friends with some of the cubs in the pride (Though he only got the courage to do this after his first encounter with them, in which he accidentally fell out a tree and landed right in front of them). He soon got to know some of the cubs (And even some of the adults, too), and was welcome to stay in the oasis.
One of Jafiya's daughters, Kyra, interested Mikhulu. He admired how protective she was over her siblings, as few of the other female cubs were that fierce. But despite his admiration, Mikhulu enjoyed annoying Kyra more than any of the other cubs. However, the two cubs did slowly become friends.
